Yarn Along

I just bought these two books yesterday and can't wait to start them!  The Help has been on my list to read since it came out last year.  I have been waiting patiently for it to come out in paperback.  I think I read that there will be a movie sometime soon.  The Dirty Life is another book that I have seen on this yarn along that has been on my list.  How exciting to find it displayed at Barnes and Noble!

On the knitting front, I am working on my sleeves for this cardigan, and I am working on this shawl.  I haven't made much progress on either.  I think I will blame it on my daughter who moved back home last week from university.  We have been taking walks and shopping and just plain talking.  My knitting sits beside me somewhat neglected. I am okay with that, before long August will be here and we will be driving two kids to their universities.  Such exciting times for them and for us!

  1. I had to laugh when I saw the books on your post? Care to guess what I just down loaded to my Kindle? Yes, both The Help and The Dirty Life. I do wish we lived closer since I think we would have a lot of fun together. Have a wonderful day.

  4. Let me know how you like The Help ... it's not on my to-read list (yet) but I've heard of it and am interested in knowing how it is!

Maybe if I can knit this stole really fast I'll be able to cast on my Swallowtail before you cast yours off. :)

  11. The color of that cardigan is amazing. I'm always looking for red that is not too fire engine, not too magenta, not too orange...that perfect, illusive carnation red that you have here! Adding the sweater and yarn to my ravelry queue poste haste...

  15. I'm still lovin' your cardigan! I loved reading "The Dirty Life". I also was wondering about The Help. I started a new job for a book distributor so I merchandise these books every week so I get to see the new best sellers as they come in. Now my list is way too long...lol. Glad my daughter is a librarian and can pick them up at the library for me.

  17. I was reading through several of your posts and you've had a lot going on! You must be so proud that your daughter graduated. Your sweater and shawl are both looking great and I hope you enjoy The Help. I read it a few months ago and I couldn't put it down. Oh, and I hope your new coffee maker arrives soon. I'd be in trouble without coffee.
