Yarn Along

I am amazed that it is yet another yarn along.  This week I am reading two books.  The first one is an oldie but a goodie-- Anne of Green Gables.  I know a few others out there are reading it and it made me pick it up and revisit an old friend.  I simply adored this book as a pre-teen.  I have read it many times and it is such fun to re-read it again.  I think it has been over five years since I have read it.  To off set the happy care free Anne, I am also reading Dark Places.  As you can gather by the title, it is a thriller, which was highly recommended by my son.  We tend to have similar interests in books.  So let's see if that trend still holds.  He gave the book a "ten".......not much gets a "ten" on his scale, he is quite a harsh book critic.

For knitting this week I have been focusing on two projects.  The first one is the buttercup yellow scarf which has been around a couple of weeks now.  Still plugging away on that one.  My other project is wurm head.  I am thoroughly enjoying this project!!  Everyone should make one.  It has been quite nice to be knitting with cotton, it always has a different feel when you throw the yarn around the needle.  What have you been reading and knitting?

  1. Both your project look lovely so far. Anne of Green Gables is one of my all times favourites. I love the movie too. One of my friends gave me Rilla of Ingleside for my birthday as it was missing from the collection I have. She had been borrowing the books from me as she loves reading them too. I am tempted to re-read the books as it has been many years since I last read them. Hope you like Dark Places. I haven't read it, but with a rating of 10/10 from your son, I'm sure it must be good. 2. It's funny, I've been planning on going through all my books stored at my parents'house the next time we are there and that is the one I'm really looking for! Of course I'm sure I'll find other treasures too but Anne is what I've been thinking of.
Your projects look beautiful. I can't wait to see them :)

  17. Ahhh I love Anne. I just re-read all of the Anne books and I'm trying to find Emily of New Moon. Perhaps I'll just have to inter-library lone it.

Anne is just so refreshing to read as an adult, but just as magical as when I was a little girl!

    Love your knits too!
