Yarn Aong

Today is supposed to be a very rainy dreary day which makes it so perfect for knitting.  As promised by our meteorologist we had seven days straight of sunny weather.  After all of the flooding at the beginning of September the bright warm days were wonderful.  Now let's get back to changing into fall and having a cool breeze, okay?

My knitting this week sort of stays the same, I am still making cowls but I have finished two our of four that I plan to knit up.  These are for gift giving during the holidays.  I have the pattern completely memorized so I am not even thinking about what I am doing....an extra bonus!  The project page can be seen here:  seed stitch cowl.

I am over half way through The Distant Hours for my reading this week.  I love this book!  I am savoring each chapter I read because the story line is that good.  Kate Morton is quite talented in writing a mystery novel.  She strategically reveals snippets of information though out the book  so you are compelled to keep reading.  I know I will be a little sad when this book is done.

  1. You must be getting the rain I have had for the last few days. It has made knitting so enjoyable and I don't feel like I should be outside doing something. Hooray for memorized patterns, it does make it easier to knit.
Thank you for the sock help. I am sure I will be emailing you! I am almost done with the second leg and then it's time for the heels! xx

  2. This weather makes knitting cowls seem like the best use of anyone's time ;) Think I might have to make one myself. However, I must not cast on another project... Must NOT ;)

  3. Oh I am so glad to hear that you like the book!! I loved Forgotten Garden and I so wanted to read another of her books, but was afraid to be disappointed. I will add it to my list :). The seed stitch cowl looks lovely, as does the yarn :).

  4. Aaaah, truly autumnal weather. Nothing like it. The only thing to make it perfect at our place is a fire in the hearth, but that will have to wait until the temperatures drop below 45degrees. I have a cowl on my to-knit-for-the-holidays list. I really must get at it. Yours are coming along beautifully!

  14. You must knit so fast! I can't wait to get to that point. Of course it probably goes faster without four little ones to look after!
