My String of Days

I had a lovely week with cooler temps, falling leaves and a slightly slower pace.  I have been successful in eating from the freezer and pantry which made going to the grocery store a breeze. It also is amazing at how little my husband and I eat compared to young adults. A sign of age? I will stick with a sign of selectiveness.

We closed the pool. Now when I say we, I mean he. All I did was help with the cover, it helps when there are two people instead of one. And you know what else? All the rabbits have relocated! Honestly I never thought they would go away. All week Frodo either was blissfully laying on the grass or on his stoop relaxing.  My fingers are crossed that he forgets his love of the hunt by next spring.

As you can imagine my thoughts are turning to fall projects. I am cheating on my current projects by thinking of future projects and what to make next.  But first I will finish a few.  I really cannot have over four projects going at once. One day I will throw caution to the wind and do a mad cast on.  Just not right now.

I have lovely events planned for this weekend and cannot wait to share them on Monday! There, I've left you with a tiny cliff hanger.

Have a good weekend!

  1. It sounds like a wonderful week! I have enough meals in the freezer now for almost a week too! I can't wait for next week's dinners (as long as I remember to take the stuff out to defrost!) Can't wait to hear all about your weekend on Monday! Enjoy!

  2. Now I can't wait to find out what you're doing over the weekend...I'm intrigued!

I know what you mean about eating out of the freezer when the children aren't around. We do exactly the same when Hannah goes. But it's lovely to be cooking for three again at the moment.

Hope your weekend turns out even better than you expect.

  3. Just having one out of the house has reduced the amount of food consumed in our house. With one still home though, I haven't really slowed down. Your week sounds wonderful...go ahead cast on a fifth item...I'm such an enabler ;) Have a great weekend!

  6. Hi there! Glad to catch up with you a bit. I agree...so glad that cooler weather and a different season is settling in. Good for the soul! We ate from our freezer and pantry for about a month before moving and it was such a beautiful thing to have such a low grocery bill that month. Can't wait to see what your cliffhanger is!
