Yarn Along

This week I decided to start a new project for me.  I've been focusing on holiday ornament making and yesterday I hit the wall.  I just had to hold new yarn and start a new project.  This yarn is beautiful, it is Quince and Co's Tern.  This pattern caught my eye when I was up in Maine.  The yarn shop had a lovely sample on display.  It was an impulse buy that brought me great joy!  Here is my project page.

I'm still reading The Tiger's Wife and I like it!  Phew.  I was worried last week because it's a strange book.  I am enjoying how the story is unfolding and I love when fiction flips from present to past.  It still continues to be a strange story but I'm okay with it, I have a hunch it will continue to be a strange book.  Meanwhile I decided to show you two magazines I've been flipping through while eating lunch.  So far I'm not too thrilled with the Interweave but in the Jane Austin magazine I like.  I know of two shawls that would be lovely to knit.

What are you knitting and reading?

  1. That Quince & Co is divine - I have still never made anything in their yarn (I think I'm scared to now! Too much investment pressure!). What colour is that called?

You're right, The Tiger's Wife stays strange!

  13. I'll have to queue the sweater. My list keeps getting longer. I was a very long line at the fabric the other night and picked up a knitting magazine to pass the time. I may have to go buy it. There were a few things in there that i really liked.

  14. So much envy all in one photograph. (:

I really want to try Quince and Co's yarn. And I'm waiting (impatiently) for my local yarn store to get the Jane Austen magazine.

I'm so pleased with myself - I finished two projects yesterday! Woo! Of course, the other projects I need to work on would be easier if certain little people would sleep normal hours (or pay less attention to what I'm doing)! (:

  17. I cannot wait to get my hands on the newest Jane Austen Knits magazine. I've been pretty meh about Interweaves Knits for a while, though there are a couple of patterns in the Winter one that I wouldn't mind making.

  24. Love the cardigan you've started! The detail should show up nicely with the color you chose! The items in the Jane Austen are so darling, aren't they? A friend let slip she's working on a jacket from it for my little girl. Squee!
