These Days of Projects

These days have been quiet and calm.  Snow lays on the ground and there is a possibility of more snow this weekend.  I've been knitting and finished two projects.  While knitting my mind wanders to new projects that I'd love to start, another sweater, another shawl.  Yet I still have a sweater and shawl on the needles.  Ideally I like to stay under four projects on the needles.  Over four and I lose my mind.  Four is the perfect variety for me.  Do you have a maximum number?  Just wondering.

I'm  still trying to get used to buying groceries for four people, that is a work in progress.  When they leave I think I'll have perfected the skill, only to then revert back to buying and cooking for two people.

I must say that the fingerless mitts are so wonderful in person.  The yarn is cascade 220 superwash and it is the softest wool EVER.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

  1. OH I love both these. The color of the scarf is gorgeous. I need to get some cascade yarn to knit the mitts. Love the pattern.

  2. Four is my ideal maximum number. I keep my projects in little handled paper bags on top of our "homeschool cabinet" and only four fit. Less than four is okay, too, though.

Right now I'm working on a scarf from some of my handspun, a blanket, and a toy. (:

  3. I think I really only work on two at a time but I probably have more than four total when you count hibernating projects ... some of which are hibernating indefinitely ...

The mitts look nice and cozy!

  5. So pretty! I think four is a good number. I currently have a pair of socks and a sweater waiting to be sent back to the frog pond. I am in between projects, so today will be full of casting on.

  9. Love the new blog header. It's so pretty! Love the mittens...I'm going to try that cascade 220 superwash just because you said it was soft. I read reviews that said it was scratchy. I like to keep myself at four projects. Anymore than that and nothing gets done. Lately I've been doing two at a time and feel I'm getting them done faster.

  11. lovely projects!! i'm in my post-holiday planning stage, too.....dreaming of the new projects, trying to finish a few oldies to justify all that casting on I have planned!!! How I wish I could really limit myself to 4; there might be 4 active ones, but all those poor UFO cast aside. Happy New Year!!!!! (almost!)

  12. i love your projects, beautiful and so detailed!
i've been trying to get a package ready for my family in germany and keep thinking of yet another crochet item i want to make and include before i send it off... so i've had way too many projects on my mind and on my hooks... i think ideally my brain can cope with 3 at a time.

  13. Love the edging on those mitts! I usually have several unfinished projects but knit pretty steady on just one at a time.
