Over the Moon

You guessed it!  I am over the moon with happiness.  I'm thrilled that this simple yet elegant scarf is completed and off the needles. AND I'm happy that it did soften up.  I only hand washed it so I think it would have been much softer if I was brave enough to toss into the washer.

I think this is the perfect knit for a beginner who wants to do some beading.  The instructions are very simple and really there's nothing to memorize.  Now personally, I think I love the way the linen feels after the washing, however I did not enjoy the knitting of pre-washed linen.

I had fun taking the photos outside on a beautiful day.  Ravelry notes are here

    1. Thanks! I do have soak and have used it for other projects, for this scarf I used eucalan wool wash, I soak it for about four hours (I forgot about it actually). It improved significantly and as you said smells awesome!

  2. So pretty Karen. I always admire the delicate lacy work you take on in your knitting. I have to say that any needle size smaller than 3.25mm makes me think twice!

  4. I've steered away from Euroflax for the same reason.....just too stiff and scatchy to knit with, and yet, I know how wonderfully it softens up. I have some in the stash......might just do this lovely scarf. I love the simple lines; the beading adds just the little special touch!!!! Beautiful, Karen!

  14. Ah, I didn't know linen softens after washing, every day's a school day! I'd always avoided it but I might brave it (on a small project!).

ps I smiled when I saw your pretty header picture: I photographed some violets for my last post. Don't you find it tricky trying to capture their true colour on camera?
