Pumpkin Latte Sweater

Over the weekend, I had an insane idea to knit myself a sweater for Thanksgiving.  This lofty goal probably will not happen but I do like to create challenges for myself once in a while, personal challenges make life spicy!  So welcome Pumpkin Latte Sweater.  The yarn is Cascade 220 a basic reliable worsted weight wool and the pattern is effortless cardigan by Hannah Fettig.  I poured over ravelry considering many cardigan patterns, trying to decide what exactly I wanted and kept coming back to this particular one.

Will I complete this sweater on time?  Highly doubtful, since I have many other projects beckoning my attention.  However in my imagination, I look spectacular in my finished cardigan at Thanksgiving dinner.  I truly believe that the anticipation and the imaginings of what can be is the best part.

  1. I love that you're imagining looking spectacular in your finished cardigan at Thanksgiving! I know that feeling so well myself; I can almost feel how warm and cozy the new scarves and cowls I'm planning are going to be. That is a stunning color and I'll look forward to seeing your finished sweater, whenever it happens.

  3. Just the name "pumpkin latte sweater" conjures up images of cozy days spent inside, maybe by the fire and of course more knitting in hand. :-) Good luck finishing it by Thanksgiving, I bet you can do it!!

  12. Scrummy yarn ... I'm with Nina, I think it's more autumn leaves than pumpkin, and perfect for the season. And the pattern you've chosen is one of may favourites. Your needles are going to be smoking if you make it to your Thanksgiving deadline!

  13. Gorgeous color! Funny, I was perusing Ravelry last FR looking for hat patterns and saw that same sweater and liked it. How did I see it if I was looking at hats? Because Ravelry is a huge time suck and I looked at all kinds of patterns on FR and queue a great many of them!

  15. hi Karen, love the colour of the yarn. Can you tell me what worsted means? Does it refers to the weight or ply of the wool, or is it just the way it is spun. Good luck with your project.

    1. Hi Monique, worsted refers to the weight of the yarn (how thick it is) but not necessary to the ply of the yarn. Here is a description and I hope it helps!! I rarely knit with worsted and tend to knit with fingering weight wool. http://knitting.about.com/od/yarn/a/yarnweight.htm

  17. You can do it! You can do it! Go, Karen! Spice it up!

I've had my eye on that patter for a while now, too. I love all of Hannah Fettig's designs and knit a "Wispy" cardigan a couple of years ago. It actually worked up pretty quickly. : )

(I have the same notebook as you. : )
