Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

This weekend was a celebration of my ordinary days.  The simple surroundings that I call home and that bring me the greatest joy.  On Friday I was officially caught up with my lists, chores and errands.

On Friday, my sister and brother in law arrived for a weekend visit and I am now faced again with a list of chores but the chores are so worth the visit.  We had a good time and ate lots of food and laughed.

My weekend contained:

-broiled asparagus, coleslaw, roasted potatoes and salmon (steak for them) on Friday night
-grilled marinated lime chicken, risotto, green beans and a tossed salad yesterday
-both nights we enjoyed pound cake with a strawberry sauce that my sister baked :)
-a tiny bit of shopping, sitting on the back yard swing, and knitting!
-finishing a super secret knitting project

Today my sister and brother in law will leave and we will celebrate Father's day with hamburgers, french fries and more pound cake.

How was your weekend?  I love reading about your weekends, with old friends and new friends :)

  4. Your weekend sounds lovely, I never had a sister and always wondered what it would have been like to have one, my brother and I have nothing in common (apart from our parents). Our weekend was a good one too. Have a wonderful week!

  7. I hope you realize, my friend, you have made my mouth water a zillion times just reading this post! Oh my goodness! Your food sounds absolutely out of this world. I must try the broiled asparagus. Did you do anything special in the preparation? I love the combination of lime and chicken...with a little "hot" thrown in! Marinated would be even better! :)

I am seeing a pattern developing here for our Friday evenings. :) Saturday I spent recuperating from Friday evening and today is somewhere in between...and celebrating my hubby. You are welcome to read about it here...http://jesusweadorethee.blogspot.com/2014/06/weekends_15.html

    1. the asparagus is tossed with olive oil and salt and pepper (I think...) and then broiled/baked at 425 degrees until done to likeness. It tastes delicious and she left them as spears so less prep in the kitchen!
