Currently on the Needles

As promised, I cast on my new socks over the past weekend, still toying with the idea of keeping the ribbing going down the leg of the sock, or not...can't decide yet.  Love the color repetition!  I also finished my shawl and posted yesterday. I am thrilled with how the shawl turned out :)

I am reading The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer and I needed two chapters read to get into the story line.  So far it's okay, I'm hoping that I will become more engaged with the characters and the plot.  Still early days though.  I also picked up the new issues of Vegetarian Time and the Yoga Journal for something to flip through while ignoring the heat wave we are having here in PA.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. I love the color combo too Karen. I was playing around on Ravelry yesterday looking at sock patterns, I really need to cast on a pair since I am a little tired of dish cloths [the cotton is starting to hurt my hands].

  8. Great sock yarn Karen! I love the stripes. I would only do the ribbing for a little while, then do stockinette.

  18. Love that color combo! The black just really turns on the other colors. That shawl......WOW! It turned out lovely!
I just moved from the MD/wash/Balti corridor to the heart of Texas 2 years ago and I miss that area so much. Eventually , planning on getting back up to the NE! I know those humid and hot days up there are to day from! Stay cool!

  19. That is really great sock yarn! I can't wait to see the whole sock knit up. Knowing how fast things fly off your needles that won't be long now. Lately I've just been reading bits of The Atlantic when I get a chance. However those bits keep me content :)

  28. It still amazes me how that sock yarn works. Continuing the rib does make a nice snug sock. Happy July 4th, I hope that you keep nice and cool.
