Currently on the Needles

My knitting has been great fun this past week.  As some of you may know, I started the hitofude cardigan and have joined Steph in a knitalong of sorts.  Care to join us?  We would love to have you!

Still knitting my shawl, smiling when I get to do my short row shaping.  Lovely.  I'm nearing another section at the end.  I can easily see myself knitting this shawl again.

I started a new book, a young adult novel, Eleanor and Park which I've seen on fellow blogger's posts.  I only started but I'm happily wrapped in a love story.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. I think it's wonderful that you and Steph are having a kal for Hitofude, it's a great pattern. I spent all day yesterday debating if I would cast on and decided I needed to wait a bit; school is starting, Emerson is having surgery and I have a wedding to get ready for, so maybe next time.
Love the pretty colors of your knitting.

  6. I'd love to join in, but things are just a tad too busy here right now. Just keeping track of our girls schedule right now is almost a full time job. ;-) I do love the pattern and have bookmarked it for a future knit. Love the colors of your projects!!

  7. We have Yarn Along the Rockies coming up in a couple of weeks. I had thought i would go and purchase one yarn for something fun to make. Now I have something fun to make, so I'll be a couple of weeks behind you and Steph!

  9. I really love those colors together on your projects...and now that I'm seeing how the shawl is shaping up....that's looking real enticing, too! NO FAIR. I'll never keep up with the hitofude at this rate!!!!!! (that's why I'm telling you, I need a 12-step program instead of the knitalong!!!!!!!!!!)

  10. Imagine When was one of my favorite knits and I'm wearing mine today. Sadly, the last couple of weeks have offered very little time to knit. I hope the upcoming holiday weekend will give me more free time.

  11. I wish I could join you! But I need to finish a few other things before I start jumping into new projects ;-) It'll be fun to watch though.

  13. One of the podcasts I listen to was just singing the praise of Hitofude and so I started considering it in earnest for the future. No money for that quantity of yarn at present but the pattern has intrigued me and so it went into my favorites for another time! Your color is lovely for it!

  14. That cardigan is beautiful!! I don't think I have the brain capacity to do anything so intricate right now (or the yarn budget. haha) but I love the colour you've chosen, delicious. I've put it in my favourites though for one rainy day, hopefully!

  16. Your shawl is just the same color as the dress I'm wearing today. I hope you'll enjoy wearing it when it's done.

I loved Eleanor & Park -- and everything else Rainbow Rowell has written. I now buy her in hardcover the week a new book comes out and know I won't regret the expense.

  17. I love this knit along you are doing with Steph (and I love her blog!) Still so over my head but as always I love to live vicariously through your knitting. :) Just finished "What Happens When Women Say Yes to Faith" by Lysa Terqeurst. Very good. I'm new to her writing but she's got a bit of a sense of humor and it's not a tough read.

  18. Oooo! I can't wait to see your Hitofude when it's finished. I've had that pattern on my radar.

I had a friend strongly suggest that I read Eleanor and Park. I look forward to seeing how you like it, since our taste in books are similar.
