Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

October is turning out to be a spectacular month to behold.  Each day I walk about outside and notice something different.  This photo was taken before the leaves were mowed and blown to the side. The oak trees have barely started so there's more to come.

The weekend was an at home weekend kicked off by dinner out with our daughter Friday night.  We shopped a bit afterwards then headed home.  Saturday, I cleaned and readied the house, taking my time and stopping for some much needed knitting breaks.

Sunday after church and more kitchen preparations, we welcomed to our house my daughter and her fiance and his parents.  We had a fabulous time getting to know each other and share our life's tidbits. For dinner we had grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, tossed salad and for dessert......pumpkin pie!

Today I'm exhausted, the dishes are done and put away.  I'm happy knowing there are left overs in the frig and knitting to cozy up with.

How was your weekend?

  1. Your weekend sounds lovely. Watching the leaves turn colours is such a nice part of this time of the year.

I had a lazy weekend, a bit of sports, lots of knitting on my newest project little socks and neglecting my more challenging project estuary. I've also started planning our next summer holidays a bit more in detail, currently I am trying to figure out a route for our road trip.

  4. The picture is beautiful! We get more pine needles than leaves, so I really enjoy seeing photos like yours. We had a great weekend. I was able to get together with friends Friday night, we had a lazy football Saturday and then a bike ride for a great cause on Sunday. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

  5. October days change constantly, as one day it feels like winter, the next like blustery fall, and the next warm and sunny like summer. The golden leaves that are starting to fill our landscape are stunningly beautiful. Your weekend sounds lovely!

  11. What a great weekend! I wish our daughter would bring her fella over to mee us. That is why I am praying so hard for her. She is pulling away from us and closer to someone we know nothing about. :( She has learned this difficult lesson once and I pray that she opens her eyes soon!
My weekend was very busy (remodel her house). Sunday after church Mister and I went grocery shopping, did some resting, made a dinner that was pretty much acceptable to everyone, and rested some more (I was crocheting like crazy during this time). Turned in at 9 to read for a bit and drift into a great night of sleep.
Thanks for sharing your weekend! I think I may have to join you for "Weekends" :)

  15. You are surrounded with beauty from your trees, Karen. I am so glad that you had a good weekend and that things went well yesterday as your future in-laws visited. I can only imagine how exhausted you are today. Please rest up. I am having an exhausted day today as well. I had big plans to can pears, but at present they still await me in the kitchen sink after having been washed. I am glad that my hubby will help me with whatever I need him to do...but it shall wait now until after dinner. Rest up my friend!
