Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

The weekend before Christmas has been a filled one.

Friday night, we traveled to our daughter's town to her swearing in ceremony to the County Bar Association and then we were off to dinner that included some french fries (yum).  Once home, I snuggled under my scrap sock blanket and added a few more rows.

Yesterday, I waited and waited while our son traveled by train for the first time.  Nothing ever changes.  First day of kindergarten, first day of high school, first day of leaving them at a university and now using trains for the first time, I never change with the worrying.  Anyways, he arrived at the station where my husband picked him up.  I stayed with Frodo and knit some more.

This morning, I wrote the menu for the week and the grocery list.  I made some gingersnap cookies after trying to remember which recipe was my favorite.  I think I did make the favorite recipe, but I'm not sure.  This one is from an old cookbook but don't you think they are all the same?  I like mine soft not crisp.

So now I sip my tea, getting ready to settle down on the sofa and watch a movie, perhaps.
Happy winter solstice!!

How was your weekend?

  2. Happy Winter Solstice to you, too! Our weekend was fun-filled. We went to the Seattle Center and rode the monorail with the GK and also enjoyed the Christmas train layout at the Center. Today we took a friend to church where all the kids' choirs sang and then we had a lovely meal at her retirement place. Tonight I'm just going to pick up my needles and work on another fuzzy scarf for DD's post-Christmas b'day. Have a good evening!

  4. What a wonderful weekend you had. French fries, yum! (You know they originated from Belgium? ;-) )
My weekend was fun too: we had a lazy Saturday noon couch knitting and relaxing from the hard work weeks before and went out for dinner and a pub. On Sunday we went to Maastricht (NL) to enjoy Christmas lights, tea and we did a short hike. Happy Holidays!

  16. Aww so glad your son arrived safely on the train.

MY weekend was lovely. Lots of early gift opening and giving. Some unexpected goodies from neighbors.
I found a knit pattern I can live with and work easily while watching movies. Took some fun group photos with the timer mode of our camera. ALL good
