Currently on the Needles

I wonder if you thought I'd be showing my orange cardigan yet another week?  Well, I'm still plugging along with the knitting and just bound off the body of the sweater. Yesterday, I posted about finishing my shawl.  This week, I was craving a new project on the needles so I cast on another circumnavigate cowl.  This time around I have plenty of yarn and went up a needle size to make the cowl super squishy and slightly larger.  The tiny bit of yak fiber in the yarn makes this a decadent knit.

I am almost half way through my book, over all I'm liking the story so far.  The writing is quick to read and easy to pick up and put down.  Perfect for a busy week where my reading time has been limited.  On my kindle, I'm reading Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm which I read as a teen oh so long ago.  I honestly do not remember much of this book except that I wanted to be Rebecca.  But then every book I devoured as a teen, I wished to be the heroine.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. Love the red! I've only knit circumnavigate once, but remember it being such a satisfying project!!! And I loved that book, too. I don't think I've ever read (ever---even as a teen) Rebecca.....of Anne of Green Gables. Good books to put on the list......the growing-i'll-never-get-to-in-a-lifetime list!!!!! Happy Wednesday!

  2. I went to bed last night thinking about casting on a new project, nothing specific, I just want that cast on feeling :)
I worked on the heel of my toe up sock last night and may rip the whole thing out today and start over cuff down, sigh, I don't think this way of knitting is for me, but I will let you know.

  18. Oh, I am glad to see that you like Mr. Penumbra's. My SIL recommended it me and I have it on my reading list. I may have to move it up in the queue now! Such a cheerful shade of yarn you have chosen.

  19. The blue shawl is gorgeous, I really love the design and your knitting is quite beautiful. My aunt loves Mrs. Penumbra's 24 hour bookstore, I am going to have to try it out. Haven't read Rebecca of Sunny-brook Farm, but always wanted to. :)

  20. Love the look of the cowl Karen. I just linked over to ravelry for a look and ended up spending ages there. I've been looking for a different cowl pattern so will definitely get this pattern. Thanks for directing us to it.

I'm just going to start another Dolan beret for a friend today and waiting for some lopi yarn to arrive to make a sweater for ahmad. I can't wait to begin making something a little bigger. I'm reading a Scandinavian murder mystery and lot's of seed catalogues and recipe books . I think it's that time of year. Debx
