My weekend:

-our daughter was home for a three day visit
-we shopped and went out for dinner
-there was a viewing of Annie (1982) lots of singing and humming along
-running out of coffee each morning even with a full pot
-mini cupcakes with icing and heart sprinkles!
-deciding to rip out the bottom of my orange sweater, I'm not liking how it looks
-Dr. Who and Gilmore Girls was in the mix as well
-walking and hearing the birds, they think it's spring, silly little ones.
-more snow is coming!
-laundry, reading, phone calls with relatives and menu planning

How was your weekend?

  1. Your blanket looks so colorful and cozy. Yum...cup cakes. You are lucky that you are getting snow. It just rains here...water skiing over here!!!!

  2. I was sad to hear that you found it necessary to rip out the bottom of your orange sweater, Karen. But I totally get how one feels about a piece of yarn work they are doing when we don't like how it looks!

Glad you had time with your daughter over the weekend. Working on wedding plans?

It really was a joy to hear the birds singing the last couple of days.

    Have a wonderful week, Karen.

  3. I'm glad you had some time with your daughter Karen and you had cupcakes too? That is a good weekend. Snow? I think you must have some of my birds because it felt like a spring weekend here, 70 degrees.

  4. Ah I love sleeping over at my Mom's, feels like when I was a kid! Too bad about ripping a part of your sweater, but what has to be done, has to be done! Have a great week, Karen!

  7. Your weekend sounds relaxing and lovely. We had very warm temperatures and the birds here are being tricked into thinking it is time to court. It looks like winter has been canceled in Utah.

My weekend was great, lots of good stuff, good friends, and a visit to an open house at a gallery that made me want to paint so badly that my fingers are itching :)

  16. Weekends with kiddos is just the best... until there are grandchildren. Ha! You still have plenty of time to enjoy your children... I do kind of miss those days spent with Amanda or Zack (they think they are second fiddle now... not really so, but the moments are very rare when it is just "us" anymore.

I love those "relaxed" times, too... Wish we could feel that way every day. =)

I'm not sure why, but your blog isn't updating on my sidebar... I'm going to maybe have to re-load it. Anyway, I MISSED a couple of posts! Hope you are warm and safe... I hear another cold front is coming through! blessings ~ tanna

  17. My girls loved the 80's Annie. With temps in the 50's and 60's lately, I can see why the birds are confused about which season we'e in. It's confusing me!

  20. OH I wish mine included my daughter at home...but no.
I spent time at a friend's pottery party. I made a turtle! It will be fired and glazed and given to me in a few weeks.
I will put the turtle in my garden I think.
We also spent time out to dinner with old friends for deep dish pizza. mmmmmmmm
