Currently on the Needles

I continue to read three books from last week.  I'm over half way done with Linking your Beads, a fantastic historical overview of how the rosary came to be as well as the meanings behind the prayers and rituals.  I grew up in Catholic schools and I love how I'm learning new facts.  I read a chapter every day or so, savoring the learning.

I am still reading A Tale for the Time Being which continues to be wonderful, I'm nearly finished and I'll be sad when I read the last page.  Right Ho, Jeeves will definitely be done today as well, very entertaining, light and amusing.

This week I've been focusing on this shawl, working on it a little bit each day.  Getting excited to when I arrive at the lace section! Also yesterday I wrote about the kindness of fellow bloggers and my never ending sock scrap blanket.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  3. Both my mom and sister read several books at once, but I've always been a one book reader. Now if I could just do that with my knitting ;)
Have fun at the lace section of your shawl, it's the fun part.

  4. I love your sock scrap blanket. I don't have any sock yarn scraps (my knitting isn't clever enough for socks yet!), and I recently gave two bags of my other scraps to a friend for her charity knitting. I know! I'll buy lots more yarn for lots more projects in order to generate lots more scraps to make a blanket with :D

  17. Pretty colors. I finished my shawl, finished one sock in a pair and I've started a sleeve on my kid cardigan. I'm happy to be on the cardigan. I am itching for socks and more shawls. But right now, I'm trying to find the right cowl pattern for the person I want to knit for. Ahh, the reading ... waiting for the weekend.

  28. Hi Karen! That yarn is stunning! I've been feeling bleh about yarn along-ing, and blogging in general and it has just clicked in my head that I miss it and when I take the time to LOOK at what everyone else is doing, I am inspired!! Whoo hoo! (But inspired only gets one so far when one is also so sleepy...)

  29. The shawl yarn is pretty. I am knitting button bands on a baby Antler cardigan and reading "The Light Between Oceans." The book is a book club selection otherwise I might give up and return it to the library. I am not crazy about the story line.
