Currently on the Needles

Progress on my second hitofude cardigan is coming along slowly.  This past week, I haven't had much knitting time, the weather called me by name and I was outside being active instead of inside knitting away.  I'm over half way with the first stage of the pattern.

I'm currently reading Shipping News which continues to be a slow read for me.  Every once in a while something happens and renews my interest to keep on reading.  It would help if I read during the day when I wasn't tired!  I'm also savoring this magazine Bella Grace, the photography and words are inspirational and I see many instagram friends in the pages.  Lovely :)

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  2. Beautiful knitting Karen. With the arrival of spring it's very hard to stay indoors isn't it? I am finding my knitting isn't being picked up until after the sun goes down, but that's okay, it will wait while other things won't. Have a great Wednesday.

  3. I cannot tell you how much I adore the color for your Hitofude! I really want to knit one for myself, but right now I don't seem to have a lot of knitting time. Maybe once we're on summer break I'll be able to get more knitting time in again...

  11. There was a completed Hitofude at the the Yarn Fest this past weekend. I can't wait to finish, but have put it aside only for a moment to work on my KAL. The color of yours is perfect!

  12. Love how your yarn matches the title of the magazine! Such a moody picture on the cover...I, like Steph, often buy books and/or magazines because of the cover. The weather has been lovely here, but now it's cool and rainy and we even have a fire in the woodstove which makes me want to knit!

  17. Oh my! I am in love with your sweater and have put that pattern in my favorites. That color is amazing. We have been outside a bit more too--getting backyard and patio in shape and garden planted. Fall is my favorite season, but Spring comes in a close second.

  29. Oh I love all the coordinating colours in your photo. They are dreamy. It's such a pretty cardigan...I wonder if you're making it for the wedding...
I'm still working on Ahmad's Cobblestone pullover. Fortunately it's so easy...no complicated lace stitches...So I can take it outside to work on. I'm reading The Tenderness of the Wolves and really loving it.
    Enjoy the sunshine.

  30. LOVE that color you're using for Hitofude. I am just starting THe Lincoln Myth and just finished a pair of Jaywalker socks, a fun pattern..

  31. I love this color that you are using! I am an earthy tones person and this is wonderful. I am excercising my finger even though it hurts a little and it is beginning to get better. I've always been told there isn't anything they can do for broken fingers. (old wives tale?) Anyway, it's coming along. Maybe it was only deeply bruised.
Looking forward to seeing this finished cardigan.

  32. The color of your yarn is beautiful, so rich... I haven't knitted much this week, but I did start reading Marie Kondo's "The life-changing magic of tidying up"... Fun and very motivational read for Spring cleaning time!

  33. This is such a pretty photo. I'm glad you got out and enjoyed the weather. I wanted to "inhale" as if I were outside when I was reading your post. Pretty knitting.

  34. I know, I'm just repeating everyone else but that colour is stunning! It's like a beautiful red wine!

I haven't read The Shipping News but if it's slow, I don't know how I'd manage. I keep falling asleep when I read in bed and my husband, who stays up later than me, says he knows I've fallen asleep when he hears the thud of my book being dropped!

  35. Bella Grace looks lovely, like Tovah Martin shot the cover. Wasnt that Tasha Tudor's main photographer's name? (I didn't Google it, I'm super sorry on time - sorry!)

  36. So good to get outside! I am just about to finish Daughter by Jane Shemilt, it's a good read. Bella Grace sounds wonderful. Have a great weekend xx
