Gratefulness and Patience

Hello!  I intended to post this morning but my list of tasks, well they got the better of me so I'm only now sitting down to write.  Next weekend is the wedding, I'm sort of ready, I guess. I have a huge black and blue mark on the back of my leg that hopefully make up will cover up for the wedding (hazards of packing??)  I am happy it's not on my face.

On Wednesday and yesterday, I drove back and forth to my daughter's town to help pack up her apartment.  I must say we made a great team.  With lightning speed we boxed up the apartment and only had to clean the bathroom and kitchen the next day.

Yesterday we shopped for clothes and finished cleaning the apartment around 2 p.m. and then waited for the cable guy who was to show between 1-5 p.m.  So we waited and waited.  Around 3:40 p.m. I was getting angry frustrated and annoyed that no one called. The angry texts I sent my husband might have been sprinkled with sentence enhancers (spongebob fans know the reference).  He showed up at 5:10 p.m.  I went through so many emotions, sometimes I wish I had patience.  I really really do.

The big Uhaul move from her town to his town is tomorrow, wish us luck!!

My Gratitude List:

salads :: daughter living home for a week :: windows and views :: birds :: Frodo :: Lists :: family :: knitting :: texting :: packed lunches :: that nothingness while you wait before anger sets in :: a good night's sleep!

Have a great weekend!

  2. Sorry about your leg, but I agree that a good makeup job should cover it.
I remember when your daughter moved into that apartment! Love the charm of the brick walls.
I laughed at the 'sentence enhancers' Sometimes you gotta use them to make your point.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

  6. I just don't think there's any way to avoid pre-wedding stress. All you can do is be kind to yourself in the midst of it. Have a wonderful week with your daughter!

I have spent the day at the beach with my girls and had the best day. I am trying not
to think of them moving and just want to enjoy them.

  8. Ooh... So sorry you hurt yourself. And I'm sorry about the cable guy, but for having been a "trouble customer" once before, setting back 2 hours all the other day's appointments and knowing the poor guy would get yelled at by everyone because of me, I'm sure he wishes he could have been there earlier and have gotten off work earlier as well. At least that is what I hope. Blind faith in people, it's a curse really... Wish I could get a good rage on sometimes. Not skilled at it, I end up crying and blaming myself. LOL!

So nice you'll have her home for a whole week. Cannot wait to see pictures of this beautiful day. Hope you'll share tons!

  16. It's not right that they give such a big window of time to show up. That irritates the crap out of me. you have every right to be annoyed.

  23. Typical cable guy! Sounds like your cable guy was actually pretty prompt. We've waited an entire day for one before, only to have them show up about noon the next day. No explanation. At least it is nice that you can spend time with your daughter. Good luck with all the wedding prep. Try to relax. You sound a bit stressed ;-) which is totally understandable. Hope everything goes well.

  24. What an exciting time--apart from the anger bit, but hey! I totally get that part! I am glad to hear the bruise is only on your leg too! Our son's wedding is August 29th and already I keep checking my face for weird old age bumps and blemishes that I normally never have, but fear now will be the time I start getting them!! :) I have even determined that my hair looks its absolute best, 3 weeks from a haircut, so I counted back on the calendar from the wedding date and booked my hair appointment. Now I need to figure out exactly I will be wearing and when to get my eyebrows done!! I sound so vain--and normally don't think about this kind of stuff so much--case in point, last time my eyebrows were threaded.....1.5 years ago. :) Today is a bridal shower for our beloved, soon to be daughter in law and I am so excited!
Happy weekend and fun times for you...
