Currently on the Needles

This week, I'm reading the same two books.  On the Kindle I'm reading The Song of the Lark and it's a soothing read, nothing stressful and it's quite relaxing to read.  My other book, Blue Asylum started off with a great beginning but the story line is getting quite weird, and it's weird not in a good way I guess for me.  I will finish it because I want to see what will happen, the writing is perfectly fine.

I've been working on the baby blanket these days and I am seeing much progress.  I love big projects that are mindless and I can read my Kindle while knitting this blanket, double the pleasure!!

What are you knitting and reading?

  3. That's such a sweet baby blanket! I have nothing on my needles right now, I know, shocking, right? I did wind some yarn for a cardigan last night but was too tired to search for the needles and cast on. Maybe tonight...

  7. Your blanket looks so pretty. I was thinking of doing that pattern but didn't have enough of one color to make it work. I love when I can knit and read at the same time.

  11. A relaxing read! I could use that! No workmen for me today. Just silence in the house and I don't rightly know what to do with myself! I hope you're having a nice day, too. :)

  19. I will have to give that a try - reading on my Kindle and knitting some mindless project. I walk on the treadmill with my Kindle so I can probably handle it. I have Song of the Lark on my list, too so am glad to hear it is pretty good. Sweet baby blanket.

  20. You have me curious about Blue Asylum, now that you mentioned it becoming weird in a way that isn't good for you. : ) I look forward to hearing what you think when you are finished with it! I am nearly through with My Name Is Lucy Barton, by Elizabeth Strout. It's very good and a quick read. I recommend it! xx

  25. Love your blanket!! Wow!! It's nice to have a peaceful read at the same time as a less pleasant one, I am finding, it gives me somewhere to turn when I need a break from a book I enjoy but is hard to read for whatever reason (here I'm thinking of Poisonwood Bible especially)

  27. I love the color of the blanket... so soothing.
I've been going back reading all your yarn alongs to try and get ideas for my next novel to read. I'm very limited at my library for books in english, but if you had a few recommendations, I'd love to know which books you've likedd the best over the last year or so!

  28. Wow, I just can't read and knit or crochet at the same time. I usually listen to music or "watch" TV. That baby blanket is very pretty.

  29. I'm with CathieJ; I cannot read and knit. I really like the blanket pattern, but that is a lot of knitting!

  30. What a sweet gift- I am sure it will be well loved.

  31. That blanket is very sweet. Lucky baby. I am currently listening to "The Museum of Extraordinary Things." The history of New York City is fascinating and Hoffman writes well. One of the characters is very unlikeable - but maybe that means he is well written. At times his story seems bizarre or weird - a little too much for me. I understand what you mean about weird. Same sweater and a new pair of socks on the needles. I considering a new pair of mittens (with long cuffs) for walking.

  32. I over the texture on that blanket your yarn choice shows it up really well.

  33. I love the blanket. Would you kindly tell me the yarn you are using? Lovely!

  34. That is the exact pattern that I started for the baby I'm knitting for now because it's the exact blanket I would want to receive. Sadly, the mother wanted lace so I had to rip it out (I may have shed a tear) Your knitting, the pattern and the colour are so perfect - I love it. The next blanket I have to make is going to look just like that, then I'll find a worthy recipient!

  37. I love the sweet little blanket. It makes me want to make one but with no babies in sight I'd better not! I will just enjoy yours :) Have a great weekend!

  38. Oh it's so annoying when that happens with a book, you feel like all that time invested in reading it is wasted! Hopefully it gets better :) love the blanket, such a pretty design.
