Weekends

relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments

How was your weekend?  Oh, I do hope it was a nice weekend.  My weekend was great because the weather is warming up, the sun was out more than usual, the birds are singing and well, the days are feeling like early springtime.  Snowdrops are in full bloom and the daffodils are sprouting!

My weekend contained:

:: lazing on the sofa, reading and knitting, sometimes at the same time :: my husband making curry :: crossword puzzles and sudokus :: phone calls from the kids :: marathon watching Merlin :: leftover cupcakes :: thinking and planning when my daughter visits next next week (whoop!!) :: confusion on what to wear during these transitory weather days ::

How was your weekend?

  5. Our weekend was lovely. I made oatmeal, white chocolate, cranberry cookies that we delivered to a friend recovering from eye surgery. We took a walk in the sunshine and splurged on coffee out this a.m. Oh and I knit without ripping out a stitch and then went to warm and gentle yoga late this afternoon.

  12. That sounds like a wonderful weekend Karen! Knitting and reading at the same time, perfect. I hear you on the what to wear dilemma, it's ok if you are at home as you can always change but what to do when you go out........

I have joined in this week you can read about my weekend here

  14. Your weekend sounds lovely, Karen. And whoop in deed that your daughter will soon be here!

Our weekend was wonderful. We went away for a few days in celebration of my husband's birthday and our anniversary. What fun! We stayed in a historic inn, ate all of our meals out, and explored the area where we were staying. Then Sunday morning we awoke to about three inches of freshly fallen snow!

  16. Sounds like a great weekend. I am quite envious that your daughter is visiting next week. Mine is defending her master's thesis this semester, so there is no time for visits.

  17. Oh, I hate dressing for transitional weather! Your weekend sounds lovely-I had to go up into the city on Saturday for some errands, then Sunday my sister and her boyfriend came to visit, so we had to rush to get the house cleaned!

  18. Transitional weather is hard. It's confusing to my tulips and roses. But I'm so ready to plant my garden. Too bad it's only March 7th!

  19. It's hard to figure out what to wear, isn't it? I'm chilly in the morning, warm in the afternoon and cold again at days end. Your Pebble Beach is looking lovely!

  20. mmm curry.. I love my husband but the one thing I wish he could do was cook.. sometimes it's a nice change.

  21. Girl, you gotta flash that curry! Does your husband make it from scratch or buy the one that comes in blocks or does he use the powdered form? I took the tween and her BFF to their classmate's baseball opener that never happened b/c the umps cancelled it due to it being too wet for the players so the BFF got to cover over for three hours. There was two baking projects and some reading and some disappointing knitting.

    1. He makes it from scratch and it's the only curry I like. He puts in mushrooms, chickpeas (vegetarian curry!) and sometimes chopped potato.

  23. Beautiful knit! That's the one you're using Ginny's yarn for, correct? I spent this past weekend doing a lot of knitting as well. And some spinning. It was AWESOME! I hardly ever spend that much time knitting. I also watched many podcasts while knitting. It was a truly enjoyable weekend, and I was slightly bummed when it ended. lol.

  24. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Enjoy your daughter's visit.

  25. Beautiful knit, Ginny's yarn is perfect for that project! Our weekend was mostly spent outside. :-) Walking early on both days, yard work, a poker run on Sunday. It was packed full of good things.

  26. Your weekend sounds dreamy! Being that I work outside the home yet, my weekends are full of getting all the things done that I can't get to through the week...laundry, shopping, deeper cleaning... ;)
We try to get something fun each weekend but this weekend that didn't happen. Hopefully it will be nice enough to ride the Harley soon! :)

  27. What a lovely peach color of yarn! My weekend was amazing - lots of walking and eating too much of a cheesecake :)

  28. We are skipping spring &heading straight into summer here in Virginia. As is typical for us, schools were closed Friday due to snow, but this Thurs., it's supposed to be 82 degrees. I think it's finally safe for me to get outside & trim the grape vines.
Love what ever that is you're knitting. It's such a pretty rusty coral color. Also, giving a nod to Merlin. Great show!

  29. What a lovely weekend, Karen! I swear you must get more hours in the day than we do in Connecticut because I never seem to have time to sit and do needlework! ; ) Our weekend was busy, we've been looking for land to buy for when my husband retires. We saw some pretty properties this weekend, it's so much fun to plan! xx

  30. I had a weekend of leftover cupcakes as well- yum!!
