Currently on the Needles

This past week I've been rotating between all of my projects on the needles.  The pincha shawl is coming along nicely and is nearly done.  I am going until I run out of yarn!  I love that this pattern allows you to use up as much as you can.  My other project, a scarf for my husband, is the project I've been working on during the evenings while we watch tv together.

Hausfrau has been a compelling read for me.  I have to warn you, it is explicit and against all of my moral values.  The main character is incredibly flawed, unhappy and self destructive in her extra marital affairs (some are in detail).  I am drawn again and again to figure out why and that is why the novel is good.  I want to read it. However, my next novel will be a palate cleanser - devoid of risky behavior!

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. The shawl is lovely, it's something I've never knitted before but I do fancy giving one a go. I like the idea of being able to carry on with it until you run out of yarn. I've just finished The Liar's Chair, the main character sounds very similar to the one you're reading about.

  3. Your knitting looks so perfect and while I have projects to work on I find myself wanting to cast on a shawl just like yours.

  4. Oh that shawl of yours has me dreaming of knitting one for myself... That pesky cardigan I'm knitting (dark yarn and miles and miles of plain knitting) is sloooow going... I think it'll be worth it in the end, but it is dragging on for sure...

  5. I just love that shawl! It is so beautiful. I am slogging through Raven Black by Ann Cleeves, the verdict is out yet on whether I like it or not - but I am not speeding through it as I usually do with a book that I just love.

  14. I love that shawl. Just queued it. I need a pattern like that for an extra-long skein of fingering weight in my stash.
    The book sounds intriguing.

  15. The shawl draws in the the eye, I may have to try one. The book doesn't sound like something I would enjoy, if she is believable as a person I would want to argue with her to realize the mistakes she is making. Arguing with a books doesn't really work, I hate watching people ruin their lives, especially if they are unhappy even while doing it.

  22. Oh that shawl for your husband is coming along nicely! And the pincha shawl is such and interesting thing to look at, I lve the colors you've choosen.

I'm knitting a Briar Bunny for the baby this week, in between resting and the last preparations for birth. I'm dead tired to do anything else and it's kind of frustrating me. Even the knitting on the couch is tiring me in some way.
