gah!  I love this pattern!

Another fabulous weekend for me, yet again.  They just keep stacking themselves neat and tidy-like, one after the other.  I am letting out a contented sigh.  My tea is brewing and I'm ready for the recap.

Through out the weekend I've been sneaking time to knit my surf shawl enjoying every single blessed stitch.  I'm already planning another one, maybe some holiday knitting? The inspiration is flowing and feeling so good!

Friday was slow and "resting" for me.  I hate resting and I am itching to go full speed ahead, but I'm smart and I'm not (NOT) doing prednisone a third time so I am resting resting resting.  While I scratch down all the stuff I'm going to do when I'm done resting.

My husband spent the day helping a dear friend put up rafters for an outbuilding.  Friday night I sat with my friend while we watched our husbands finish work...it was hot and humid but a gentle breeze wafted about every so often and we were in the shade so it was okay.

Saturday was lots of reading and knitting and you guessed it -- resting --.  I marathoned through a bit more of Merlin on Netflix.  Quite enjoyable!  I never saw myself as a fantasy lover but I guess there is a secret part of me that is hidden that just eats up the creative impossible!

After church today we visited our local nursery to pick out some flowers and vegetables for our little raised beds.  Let's see how they do!  I'm excited since we only had volunteers in the garden last year, no purposeful plants and I did miss growing our food.

I've had lots and lots of salads for lunches and dinners.  Today was homemade pizza!  yum!  Oh and I had the best -peach - bunch of grapes - watermelon.  I'm on a roll picking out the fresh fruit this week.

I hope you are having a great weekend!  Please share your weekend in the comments below.

** Also thanks so much for loving our little weekend community, it's such a nice positive space that we gather and I have all of YOU to thank who make it possible :)

  1. My lovely weekend is not quite done which is good because I still have some meal planning and then getting my June notebook set up. Loving these longer days. Happy to know you are taking care of yourself.

  2. I am so glad to read that you are beginning to feel better. If rest is what it takes, then that is what you should do and enjoy EVERY moment of it.

  3. You ever listen to Debbie Deb's "Lookout Weekend"? Every time you post this weekly Weekend post that song plays in my head :O). We had a fun, cherry picking experience. You would not believe how many pounds of cherries we picked. Today all of the cul-de-sac kids from toddler to tween played together in the 80's weather. It was a delight for us parents. Oinked out on a lamb burger and a caramel brownie to celebrate our living here in our first home for 365 days. Got some good sock knitting done. Resting my hands for the rest of this Sunday. Gonna read; my library book stack is high!

  5. Taking it easy seems to be the only way forward, my husband has learnt the hard way and now listens to his body more. We have been pottering in the garden too, I love eating the produce from the hard work, a wonderful reward. Take care.

  7. I'm glad you are resting and taking care of yourself.
It's been raining here, buckets, due to TD Bonnie, so I've
    been piddling around the house.
I love your Surf Shawl, great color!

  9. Such a wonderful weekend, Karen! I can't wait to see how your garden turns out! We planted three tomato plants in containers this year and my fingers are crossed that they will thrive. We also have our usual herb garden, which always does well. We went to a wedding this weekend, it was held at a Christmas Tree Farm! It was a lovely setting and the couple was fortunate to have a nice breeze blowing the whole afternoon/evening, so the heat was not unbearable. Have a lovely week!
