Currently on the Needles

I know, you're thinking that my reading this week is exactly the same as last week.  You're correct!  But I'm so close to finishing After You, I only have three or four chapters left.  I am enjoying the book, her writing is compelling to read.  I haven't touched Tavern on Maple Street.

My knitting is all about a test knit for Andrea.  I love this cowl so far and I'm enjoying the Madeline Tosh sock yarn immensely!  There is nothing like a plied yarn after using single ply two projects in a row.  And the wool, well it's squishy and soft and my hands itch to work on it.  Nothing could be better than that!

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. That's a really pretty color. I really like that color, but it doesn't look right on me. It's too warm of a color. But I get to knit with all of those warm colors when I knit things for my mom because she wears warm tones well.

  3. I'm supposed to be test knitting that pattern as well - have to pick up some yarn that works because somehow I have very little fingering weight yarn in my stash! I'm hoping to start it this weekend; good to know it's an enjoyable knit!

  4. Oh thank you Karen! I can't wait to see how it comes out in Madtosh sock. I love that stuff. Finally cast on a pair of socks without it. I have been camping and then sick (finally hoping to make it to work today...) and thus behind on blog comments, but I loved your post on why you knit. Especially so. Thanks so much once again, my dear.

  6. I love the color of that yarn! I am almost done listening to Still Life with Inspector Gamache and still working through Redbreast. Summer knitting and reading are the best companions!

  7. I was disappointed with After You. I think after loving Me Before You so much my expectations of the sequel were too high. Have you seen the movie? I was going to see it in the theater with a friend who also read and loved the book but it only played for one weekend. Hopefully that doesn't mean it was a bomb!

  12. Love the beautiful colour of the yarn such a warm hue. I must toughen up a little and be stern with myself as reading seems to have slipped right away.

  17. I've knitted one item in Madelinetosh Sock (a lace shawl for Cupcake's former 4th grade teacher) and I can attest it is awesome. Yep, Madtosh yarn is squishy and plump. You really get bang for your buck. I love that moss colorway. Knitting the usual suspects of socks and trying to move further on the belated birthday shawl. Haven't touched my tunic at all. Reading a cozy that has a fiesty cat in it.

  22. I am in love with that color! To be honest, I've never really gotten the thing with cowls. I guess I should try one and see what all the fuss is about.
