Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.

Yesterday while slowly walking down my drive way, I spied these twin fawns!  How exciting! The closest on in the first photo was quite brave and stared me down while I inched my way closer and closer to snap a few photos.

Ah, technology is wonderful -- I called my husband on the cell phone to tell him to look out the window.  They were beautiful to watch and I wanted someone else to witness the event.

Yesterday I finished the window cleaning and mini blind replacing, in under a week. I had to take two hours of rest to recover. Just so you know, knitting was invented to encourage slowing down and resting.  I'm thrilled the window washing is over and now I can wait another 5-10 years to clean them again, ha ha ha....I'm sort of serious though.

After attending Mass this morning, I started laundry and caught up with some papers laying around.  In the afternoon, we met with friends and had a cook out enjoying the company, the food and the fresh air.

All in all it was a great weekend!  How was yours??

  2. Darling little fawns. Thanks for sharing them. Personally, I think washing windows every 5 - 10 years is a great idea. I'm on board.

  3. I had a lovely weekend, easing into summer break and trying not to make unrealistic lists of chores!

  4. We had a young buck in our yard the other day when I pulled up after work. He was pigging out on my flowers but I didn't mind, plenty of daisies to share. I got a good video! I tried to show Reed but he was too drowsy to make much note.

  6. Oh look at those sweeties! They are beautiful.

We had a good weekend as well, which I am happy about since I spent a good chunk of time on Friday at the dentist's office. Ick.

  8. In Pittsburgh, it must be a thing to get a window washer. Seriously, this amazing man comes to the house with all the necessary equipment and washes all the exterior windows. Now, the interiors are a different matter. Half clean is better than not at all, right? And, those babies are so cute!

  13. These are cute fawns; we don't see deer around here unless one maybe goes camping. The most wildlife we see are squirrels and these geese I don't like.

  14. I love to see the wildlife in my yard! Our big dog Jada is starting to allow them to come in. I think it's just too hot to get up and chase them off! :)
What a big job you have accomplished! New blinds and all! whew! I'm tired just reading about it! ;)

  15. Fawns are just the sweetest!

Our weekend was spent mostly in a coffee shop while our realtor has OPEN HOUSE! Hopefully someone liked it enough to make an offer! LOL

  16. Your baby deer remind me that I got a call while volunteering at the animal shelter yesterday for a fawn that wasn't getting up. The fawn's momma had stopped visiting it according to the caller for a day. I hope they got ahold of the man I knew would know how to help them. We don't get too many fawns in the suburbs back yards here.
I also spent the weekend knitting a necklace and swimming at a friend's pool. It was the best part of the weekend.

  17. Your fawn pictures are wonderful, how great to have been outside at just that right moment.

  18. Our solution to window washing (& oven cleaning) is to simply move. :) The fawns are adorable! Last summer, we had a herd of deer (is 5 deer a herd?) that would come eat our front yard each afternoon. They were beautiful to watch & one of them would come right up to the porch to say hello but they were no where near as cute as those fawns.
