Currently on the Needles

I'm on my last (or second to last) secret knitting project!  I feel like I'm making such great progress in my self imposed goals.  I'm getting giddy with seeing an end to knitting for others.

My reading is so so so slow.  I am still on the same two books.  I am loving Hamilton but it's a dense read.  Commonwealth surprisingly got interesting last night.  I can't wait to read more tonight :)

Oh I finished all the fair isles here.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  3. That's such a lovely, inviting photo! I can't wait to start my Christmas Break soon, so I can be at home and knit/read/binge (TV, although maybe some cookies too!) xo Tammy

  4. I also think your photo looks like the picture of contentment - good books, beautiful knitting, and a lovely tree. Here's wishing you time to enjoy all of them!

  5. Such a pretty, peaceful picture and love the color of your secret knitting project. I am struggling to get one pair of socks done for my son. Yikes!!

  7. That green color is so spring-y!

My knitting has been all over the place. Today I'm going to do a little work on my Coziest Memories blanket and if I have time, I'll put some work in on my Rose City Rollers socks.

    Reading? Not much. LOL

  8. Holiday knitting is simply the best - even if it means putting things on hold for self. I do so love your color choices and I have added Commonwealth to my list for reading in the new year!

  9. Wonderful, Christmassy picture, Karen. Congratulations on seeing the light at the end of the gift knitting tunnel. I'm also seeing the same light, and am promising myself that once I am done I'm only knitting for myself until April, when my grandson's birthday will require something to be cast on the needles.

  14. I'm reading chick lit/modern day romance. I just started it in the car before the tween got it. I only got in a bit of knitting last weekend in Novato, just the cuff of Frankie #2. Today I got started on mitt two of Jellybean's teacher's holiday gift. I've only crocheted in the car today and boy does 29 rounds of 30 SC go by fast! I may make a pair for my Oahu aunty.

  16. It's been such a long time since I checked in with you! :) I've been wanting to give Hamilton a try. I just finished Elizabeth Gaskell's biography of Charlotte Bronte. I'm knitting furiously to finish the last few handknits that were ordered from my shop. Life is good. :) happy holidays!

  17. I just finished The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (at least I think that's the title! I can never remember because it is so long! : ) ). It was a surprisingly good read! I started a scarf for my brother but don't think it will be done by Christmas at the rate I am knitting! Have a wonderful weekend, Karen!

  18. Cozy...wish I could come sit and knit awhile there with you at your home! Beautiful hats, and I love the color of your new project. I've done next to no Christmas knitting this year and finally decided to cave and knit my husband a hat after all... Now the pressure's on to get it done when he's not around! Happy knitting, I hope you are well.

  19. Commonwealth is on my list to read. I do like that author. I finished the Peace Cowl but have the usual pair of socks on the needles. I mailed my knitted gifts so I'm swatching for a sweater and thinking about a shawl. Looks like Christmas at your home. Stay warm. Temps are bitter here and many places I think.

  20. I'm glad to hear that Commonwealth is good. When Patchett is good, she is very good, but she has written a few that I didn't like.

  21. I love the colour of your yarn!
