Three Fair Isle Hats

I did it!  I achieved one of my many knitting present goals and these hats are such a delight to look at all together in a row.  I see the light at the end of my gift knitting tunnel.  It's bright and wonderful!

All of the yarn is from knit picks palette and was left over from a fair isle project that was many years ago.  I still have yarn left over :)  Maybe some mitts will be  in my far far knitting future.

I really don't have a favorite hat, I like them all.  Each one I was wondering if I would like the color combinations and while I was knitting them, I fell in love.

I made some minor alterations.  I did all of the decreasing after the fourth chart and I chose a different color for the ribbing to give it more of a major color theme.  I like it that way.

Ravelry notes:

Red fair isle hat
blue fair isle hat
green fair isle hat

  1. Absolutely wonderful! I thought the green one was my favorite while you were knitting them, but now seeing them all together, they are all my favorites! I love the pattern and your choice of colors and alterations are perfect. The recipients are very, very lucky!

  7. Lovely hats! Those will be some happy gift receivers. Fair isle intimidates me... but it is so pretty.

  8. Those are all really beautiful. I can't pick a favorite. The crown on that hat is exceptionally pretty. I actually like your color choices better than the designer's!

  17. I have a fair isle sweater than my much older knitting friend, now deceased, made for me when I was in high school or college. It hasn't fit for a long time, and probably never fit my daughter right, but I can't bear to part with it...have kept it in the cedar chest...maybe I could just unravel the whole bottom and re-knit into a vest! Your hats are beautiful...maybe someday I'll spend enough time with yarn and needles to advance to trying something like this...cables are still on my learning list...have a great time!
