Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

My husband celebrated his birthday this weekend and being the generous person that I am, I made him HIS favorite cake but it's definitely not mine.  German Chocolate cake (mix).  I prefer just plain chocolate with white icing.  He loves that the cake was all about him.  I hope he savors every bite because it will be next year when another one is baked :)

I forgot to share the snow drop photo from earlier in the week when the weather was acting like spring.  This morning when I went to 7:30 Mass (yawn) the temperature measured 8 degrees.  Insane.  I believe the weather will be warming up once more but for now, I'm hibernating and waiting.

Yesterday, our son arrived for his spring break week and was busy setting up his new computer.  There's nothing like new technology in the room to geek out all about it.  The more I talk about it the more I know about it.  Who knew?  I remember pre-Ravelry days and being computer illiterate.  Look at me now!

The weekend included:  curry, rice and dahl - photography - new project to be shared soon - not eating that cake in the photo - list making - texts with the west coast daughter - lots of reading and finishing books

How was your weekend?

  4. You did what needed to be done as birthday's are all about the person who is celebrating one. Hope your hubby had a great day! So nice to see signs of spring! We had snowdrops and crocus, which are now covered with snow.

  6. Happy Birthday to your husband! I believe you get extra good wife points if you make a cake that is not your favorite. :-) All those snowdrops are really lovely, as is that green yarn. Enjoy your son's visit!

  9. I like German chocolate cake well enough, but it's not my fave. The one you baked looks pretty yummy, though.

Sounds like it was a good weekend - I really like the green yarn btw.

  10. I think those bitterly cold temps are much harder to take after there has been a spell of milder weather. We did not get down to single digits, but the teens here felt extra cold! However, your weekend looks like despite that weather it was filled with lots of warmth!

  12. My brother's birthday was last Monday... his favorite cake: German Chocolate. Must be something about being born this time of year. LOL! It is always hard for me to tolerate cold after we've had warm. That yarn is a perfect color for St. Patrick's Day coming up! Glad you enjoyed some geek time with your son. It is pretty amazing all that we've all learned with Ravelry and blogging. Keeps our minds working. hee hee. Have a wonderful week, Karen! blessings ~ tanna
