Steady Knitting Progress

I am totally thrilled by my steady progress of the white out shawl.  I have only 34 rows until the bind off.  And that lace section is gorgeous!!

I've been digging through my yarns finding possible skeins for some holiday knitting that I will start by mid September.  I'll be looking for accessory patterns to match up with the yarn I already have in stash.  The planning stage is satisfying for me.

I ordered yarn from Webs for my son in law and my sister's sweaters. Thanks for the suggestions last week with pattern ideas, that helps me hone in on some possibilities.  I'm messaging my son in law with photos of designs and gaining more ideas of what he is interested in.

My sister will get this sweater in the blue Madelinetosh sock.

What are you knitting this week?

  6. Man that Madelinetosh photo is call to knit if there ever was one. I am putting a few rounds in at night of a sock. It's all I have in me at the end of the day these days. I'm hoping to finish a baby sweater this weekend, but I have said that for about 2 months. I dunno. I blame button bands. ;)

  14. I wish I was your sister! You've chosen gorgeous yarn for her sweater. Your shawl is also gorgeous. Love the contrast between the very feminine lace and the somewhat masculine gold stripes.

  16. Karen, I look at the intricate lace section of that shawl and think to myself, "How does she have patience for that?" Obviously I am not a candidate for doing such a project. :/ I purchased some yarn a while back for a shawl I wanted to make for a friend's birthday in late September. Would you believe that I tried three different patterns before I found one that I liked with the yarn I had chosen. I have a full plate right now and I am thinking that had something to do with it, but this pattern is so pretty with this yarn and I'm tooling right along now. :)

  19. the shawl is looking so great so far! I love the white lace details in between the yellow parts. I like the color of the yarn you chose for your sister's sweater too, I am sure she is going to love it! I am working on finishing sewing the seams on my sweater and knitting the first sock of a pair for my mom for Christmas. Have a good weekend!
