Weekends

Hello again, how's your weekend?  Over here in PA we are having some stellar weather.  The humidity is low enough that my hair mostly looks good and the temps are perfect.  Not too cold and not too hot.  Perfection!  I'll confess that I've worn jeans, yes jeans, two days in a row.  I love it.

My weekend was a balanced busy.  On Friday, I did some window shopping and had a lovely lunch out with my husband at a chopped salad restaurant.  I adore their salads but my husband thought they over chopped his salad, I don't think there is such a thing.  I even left the cosy familiarity of balsamic vinaigrette for carrot ginger dressing -  have you tried it?  delicious!

Yesterday, we moseyed around our town, popping into a few stores and did some people watching.  Once home and after lunch, I worked feverishly on the shawl to finish it before the weekend was over.  I cast off during an episode of Fargo (husband loves it).  While I find Fargo humorous, the violence isn't for me, so I listen and peek during the funny bits and knit.  Knitting solves nearly all of my problems one way or the other.

Today, I went for my daily walk with Frodo and tackled the usual household chores.  In the afternoon, I knit with my friends and worked more on my cardigan.  After all that lace weight knitting, fingering weight wool feels so chunky in my hands.

Well that's about the highlights of my weekend, my cup of tea is ready and waiting.  I cannot wait to post about my finished shawl in a few days!

  2. I love your wonderful photos with signs of fall! Our weather has also been stellar, and after hearing about things in TX, I'm determined to stop my complaining about weather here. I'd gladly take a return of heat and humidity if it meant they could suffer less from catastrophic flooding. :-(

  3. I love ANY dressing that has ginger in it.

It is still summery-hot here, but the afternoon lighting definitely says that autmn is on its way.

  4. Yes, there isn't much that knitting can't fix or at least improve. It is definitely the end of summer here. I haven't worn jeans yet but I have walked a few mornings with a light sweatshirt tied around my neck and shoulders. Beautiful photos Karen.

  5. Beautiful images, Karen!! No jeans for us yet, but much cooler this weekend due to the hurricane down on the coast. I feel so bad for those folks. Isn't it funny how the heavier yarn can feel like rope and the needles like telephone poles after working with lace?! LOL! Wishing you a wonderful week. blessings ~ tanna

  14. Love your fall leaf photos. We have a maple tree with two, ( not just one but two!) red tipped leaves. I can't tell you how much they excite me. And now I'm off to Google 'chopped salad.'
