Weekends

Can you believe we are coming close to the end of October?  I cannot.  Seems like I just flipped the page to October first only days ago.  Time is flying by!  How was your weekend?  I hope it was filled with goodness.

Yesterday I witnessed a beautiful sunrise while I was outside with Frodo.  These days have been glorious to look at, sunny, bright and moderate temperatures.  I'm still wistful for a wool wearing day but I know that will be here soon.

Our weekend was a 'pretend we are on vacation' weekend because we were supposed to visit our family in Ontario.  However, since I have back issues the trip was sadly cancelled.  We stayed local and ate out at our favorite restaurants.  We also took a walk by the river near the park in town.

Our son came home for an overnight visit to get away.  He was here for 24 hours then was back at his apartment.  I'm still doing laundry but the kitchen is super tidy.

This morning while driving to 7:30 a.m. Mass I saw an even more glorious sunrise that was breathtakingly beautiful.  I wished I had my camera.  Instead I memorized the colors and made a mental note of it in my head.

All of my weekend happenings:

-autumn walks with Frodo and crunchy leaves - donuts - lit candles in a darkening room - slow knitting - loving my town more each day and how beautiful it is - new fitness plan in the works - singing silly songs - relaxing with a cup of tea -

  1. This whole year has gone by in warp speed! Yesterday was our sign that October is nearly past as we had a daylong choir workshop on .......Christmas music! Yikes, right?

  2. I had a wonderful weekend full of outings with friends. However, strangely, that didn't help my house get any cleaner! Go figure.

  3. Sometimes life has a way of changing our plans. I am glad you son and daughter are close enough to stop by for an overnight or two. I hope your back is feeling better everyday. We are having some cooler days. This morning I wore a fingering weight cardigan and a shawl to church at 9:00 a.m. By afternoon - 70 degrees and a bright blue sky. My favorite kind of weather.

  4. A beautiful drive around the Island, marmalade making and crochet filled my weekend with Church and fellowship after. 3 hours spent on the phone catching up with the Grandchildren making plans for trip to see them all.

  17. This whole year has flown by but October has passed in less than a blink of an eye. I keep thinking I must be confused and it's really the end of Sept.. not October. I'm sorry your back is still bothering you so much. It sounds like you had a nice pretend vacation and I hope November is a better month for you.
