Knitting News

Good morning!  How are you?  I'm doing pretty good, I am finding pockets of knitting time here and there.  I try to squeeze in a few stitches, all for my sanity.  I do at least 3 - 4 rounds on the son in law sweater each day.  I also started a pair of simple socks for my daughter.  That luscious skein in the photo (far right) will be a simple cowl for me.  I haven't had a chance to cast on as of yet.

Thank goodness for simple knits, it's what I need at this time of my life.  Christmas is just around the corner and soon the rest of my family will be arriving on Friday.

What have you been knitting or crafting?

  1. Simple knits for people we love (and ourselves, too!) really are the best. Here's hoping you find plenty of peaceful knitting time.

  2. I cast on another hat for some peace knitting and I am in complete denial that Christmas is right around the corner.

  3. May your peaceful days continue even if they are full of people, pets, and obligations!

  4. I'm making hats! I may have to decide to give hats for Christmas, even though I never planned that. I can't stop making them ;-)

  5. Working on the second glove around here. THe yarn is a snore, shhhhh, it was gifted me, But if it were prettier I'd be more excited. Nonetheless, Im succeeding for the first time with fingered gloves so no complaints. Al will be in soon and she's a relaxer! So she and I will relax. Zach is like Fireman, go go go. So they can pair up and we can pair up.

  7. While I enjoy the occasional challenging project, I do love the simple projects. They are so relaxing and have predictably good outcomes. I'm working on a sweater for my daughter and the never-ending ZickZack Scarf.

  8. You chose the perfect color for a man's sweater! I don't have that much time for knitting these crazy days, but I hope it is going to change in a couple of weeks!!!

  10. I've been having a productive day. I dropped off the teen at school. Came home and knitted five rounds of 129 stitches on the chemo beanie; I got the second skein of black yarn 5 p.m. yesterday. It traveled all the way from Reno, Nevada since Monday and I got it safely yesterday. If only my bobbins would come and they're about two days late. I made the Costco run to keep us afloat for the next two weeks. Now I'm eating a steamed tamale and will take my antibiotic soon.
May I ask, what appeals to you about the Hunger Games series?

  11. Sadly not a lot of crafting getting done here, I am taking things easy and just enjoying the peace and quiet. Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

  12. Thank goodness for small pockets of knitting time. I have given myself an earlier curfew of 12am instead of 12:30am because I really do need to be more rested for the day. I am doing a simple knit of socks for myself, two pairs of handwarmers for 2 little girls. Well I guess one is a tween now. I also need to finish a baby sweater. Ugh. I dread it.

  13. Simple knits are so classic. That sweater is going to be great. I'm knitting hats and mittens for the grands. These are not Christmas gifts but will go in the package for the littlest's January birthday. Otherwise I am baking cookies, enjoying the days, and wishing for snow.

  15. I am "between projects"! Arrrgggghhhh... I miss having something to run and do a row or two to collect my thoughts and calm myself. LOL! I keep telling myself I need to get some yarn wound, but I haven't! And, I think I've done all the acrylic projects I can! LOL! Knit a row or two for me and send the Zen. ;) Your knitting is gorgeous! blessings ~ tanna

  17. The sweater is looking good! You are almost finished just in time for Christmas! The socks look great so far and I love the color. That skein will make a great cowl for you to begin after all the Christmas busyness. A nice treat to sit and knit a cowl into the new year. I am working on knitting a hat for my boyfriend for Christmas. I had to restart it last night, so I have to speed knit today and tomorrow to get it done in time! Hope you are enjoying the holidays!
