Snowfling Mitts

My mitts, oh my - I do love them so.  That pop of hot pink brings me endless joy every single time I look at them.  I'm telling you, my knitting productivity is going at great speed making up for lost time in December.

In December, I rescued a kitten and had family staying off and on for three weeks.  So all that knitting time lost in December was regained in January.

One of the best reasons January exists, besides for welcoming in more daylight and sunshine, is to knit all the knits.

The snowfling mitts are from a kit by Tanis Fiber Arts that my husband ordered (well I ordered from him..) for Christmas.  The wools were delightful to knit with and the pattern was easy to follow for an intermediate knitter.

Ravelry notes are here.

PS:  See my cowl that I am wearing in the photos?  I wear this all the time, I can double or triple the wrap around my neck and I love it.  I am going to knit another one for me in the same fiber but a different color.  The pattern is my own design, but I've given away most of the ones I've knitted.  I only own the neutral one!

So yeah, I'm going to knit for me all through February!

  3. These ended up being my all time favorite mitt knit....I wear mine all the time!!! (I had such serious doubts about my colour choice they languished for nearly a year partially finished...oh ye, of little faith. me!) Yours are gorgeous!!! Hoping you have lots of chilly days left to enjoy them!!

  4. Your mitts are so pretty! I am knitting the same mitts right now...different yarns, but same pattern. I must be a tight knitter, because they look much smaller than yours. I hope they will be "wearable" by me and not "giftable" to someone with smaller hands when I am done! Mine are black and white with a fuschia lining. Down here in Georgia we don't have a lot of cold winter weather, but I still like having warm hands on the steering wheel on the way to work every day!

    1. I knit tightly and I stretched these like crazy after they were done. I haven't blocked them yet because they fit right now. I hope yours fit you as well :)

  8. The mitts are wonderful, so very stylish and the hot pink is a great addition. I love the cowl, the perfect accessory for this time of year and so adaptable when you can wind it tighter for going out in the cold.

  10. Those mitts really are swoon-worthy. I really like your cowl too. What is your pattern (or as Kathy B asks, your recipe)? I like the neutral color of the one you are wearing, but one with a pop of color would sure be fun too.
