Happenings

Good morning! How are you? Thank you so much for the kind words about the christening blanket, I thoroughly enjoyed knitting that project but I am so glad that I am now done with it and can knit other things.

My life has been full since the kids moved into town. My husband and I babysat the grandchildren yesterday late afternoon early evening for a few of hours and we had so much fun. We took a walk, played sidewalk chalk then came in the house and played with the toys. I don't know who was more tired..!  Inside I feel like I am 30 years old but my body says this is not true!

We are happy and grateful to be in their lives.

Our gardens continue to thrive and mature since my husband has revamped them a few years ago. My sister and our neighbor have helped us by giving flowers from their gardens. We have bought and added our own as well. The challenge is whether or not the deer will eat it or not.

Yesterday afternoon I decorated my art journal and my weekly planner for the next couple of months with the washi tape I've accumulated over the years. I don't think I will ever run out since I cannot resist buying it.

Since the weather is hot and humid, I am once more hiding in the AC and avoiding being out there. I cannot tolerate that weather - I feel so unwell! I'm thankful and grateful for the coolness of my home.

How are your gardens growing? Can you tolerate the heat and humidity?

  1. I'm so glad that you and your husband get to enjoy your grandchildren more now that they are close by. It's a privilege I've not had and while we've still maintained close relationships with our grands, it would have been fun to have seen them more often. Our youngest graduates from college next June.

I'm thankful that you have the air conditioning because I understand how the heat and humidity can really make life miserable and cause us to feel unwell.

    Have a great week, Karen.

  2. What a treat to have your family so close by, Karen! My garden much preferred the long slow spring we had... this heat and humidity is really not fun for anyone... or anything!

  3. I'm glad the kids and grands are close and whoever invented sidewalk chalk was a genius!

  4. I'm with you - feeling younger inside than my body says I am! LOL. How nice that you and your husband babysit together - building up such wonderful memories for your grandchildren too. I don't like the heat and humidity either, but right now it is darn chilly. I actually had to put socks on when I went to bed last night!!

  6. I'm am right there with you. The heat really gets to me (and by heat, I mean 75 degrees). Hard to believe I spent over 30 years in Florida.

Glad you had time with the Grands. Those are memory making times.

  7. How wonderful that you live so near and get to spend so much time with your grandchildren! I hear you when you say that you feel 30 until your body reminds you that you really aren't 30 anymore. I love your flowers. I don't do well in the heat either so thank goodness for AC that works well! Have a great week. See you again soon!

  8. We don't grow much in our garden. I am not looking forward to the heat and humidity but right now it is cold and rainy and I am not loving that either.

  9. I can so agree with everyone who feels like 30 inside but has a body that doesn't follow that same program. How fun to have your grandchildren so nearby. I don't do well in the heat and humidity either. We are sliding into summer temperatures so I have to get up and walk early in the morning.
