This and That

How are you all doing? I'm doing great and am in the midst of the tail end of the Christmas knitting marathon. I might be down to one project.

I've been enjoying my bird feeder and identifying the birds that come to visit. And the new squirrel proof feeder does work! However it is not raccoon proof so we bring it in every single night. All I can say is at least it's not a BEAR. So far no bear sightings but never say never...

The above photo is a snap of my Christmas junk journal that I whipped together with scrapbook paper and some Christmas cards. I'm joining in with Brie at Documented Journey on You Tube (she's on Instagram as well) with her Create December and daily prompts until the 25th.

The other evening, Miss Holly crept into the family room to sit by her beloved (aka not me) while Frodo was sleeping under the ottoman. Let me tell you this, she is one brave determined kitty. Luckily for us, Frodo is completely oblivious to her presence and it remained a quiet evening.

I've discovered battery operated twinkle lights and placed them on the mantle and on one book shelf. I might be doing this year round. That mantle is dark and dreary but the twinkle adds some hopefulness to that space.

The house is completely decorated for now, I'm on the hunt for something to place beside the front door outside but I'm not stressing over it.

Thanks for visiting and reading this space.

  1. I remember when my brother and SIL lived in the suburbs of Pittsburgh they had to bring in their feeders every night because of raccoons! Your decorations are so pretty. We put a strand of little lights around our apple tree and I love seeing it from the kitchen...or when I wake up in the middle of the night and look out the window!

  2. Lights are lovely (year-round) and your decorations look so cheery! I've really got to get going on decorating - maybe this weekend.

  3. Your decor looks so cheery. I love the little fairy lights. I use them on my dark and dreary mantle too. They really make it so bright and happy. Holly is getting braver each day. Sorry to hear you are not her beloved lol.

  7. Just catching up after so long............your decorations look wonderful and cosy. I am on the hunt for some of those battery lights too, I am wondering how long the batteries last though? Thinking it could be wasteful unless you can change the battery?

    1. I'm hoping they last the month! I have no electrical outlets so it's either battery operated or nothing at all, so sad.
