Knitting News

Last night while I was working on this cowl I discovered a dropped stitch - EEP -  so I had to squirrel that stitch back up. Thank goodness it was only four rows and it was somewhat easy to work. I have no idea how that happened, but do we ever know when we drop a stitch??

Today is a rainy dreary day so I'm hoping for extra knitting time or reading time or both!

What are you working on this week?

  1. Yikes! I am so glad you caught that dropped stitch. :)

I am contemplating my next sock pattern!

  2. Your cowl looks so soft and comfy! Glad you noticed the dropped stitch before too many more rows had been knit. The sun is trying to poke out here, but rain is in our forecast. I'm hoping for knitting, stitching and reading time!

  3. Luckily you found the dropped stitch fairly quickly. I am trying to finish up a half sock. I have been busy doing some deep cleaning so knitting and other crafty endeavors have been suffering.

  4. I always think I am being rewarded somehow when I find a dropped stitch just a few rows back and can easily fix it. We're lucky to just have cloudy weather since it won't start raining til this afternoon. My extra knitting time comes tomorrow as it's supposed to rain all day until Friday!

  5. I usually know right away if a stitch has dropped. I'm a tight knitting and I can feel it zip down the column. Thankfully, they usually don't drop more than a row or two. Glad you were able to get yours picked back up.

I've been knitting and stitching a lot. It's been a very productive week so far.

  7. Ooh that was lucky, thank goodness you realised that you had dropped a stitch and only four rows down. My knitting is adding rows to my jumper.

  9. I'm glad you caught that pesky stitch. I never know that I've dropped a stitch. The work on the cardigan marches on - the second sleeve though. I did pull out some stash yarn to make a pair of fingerless mitts as a birthday gift for my niece. I wasn't going to cast on anything else until I finished the sweater but her birthday is in April. At least that's my excuse.

  10. Hi Karen,
...You are ROCKIN' that second cowl...and I agree...I think we always find the dropped stitch after the fact...and if the pattern is very complicated it can have disastrous effects...I'm glad you found yours so quickly...
    ~Have a lovely day!

  12. Yay for catching the dropped stitch; I sometimes drop on during sock knitting. I like the soothing colors of your cowl. Is that a Joji Locatelli design?
