Weekends

Hello! How are you?

My husband and I visited our son and daughter in law in Indiana for most of last week and this past weekend. We spent quality time with our 2 year old grandson and our 7 month old granddaughter. We are both exhausted!!

I am amused at how I cannot remember being tired taking care of little ones in my youth, I must have had a ton of energy back then. Also I didn't have an autoimmune disorder that basically sucks the life right out of me. Even though I have physical challenges, I manage to love them up as much as I can. I will be resting and recovering this week.

We had great weather while we were there and we ate out almost every day. (no cooking if you know me and my love of that). Our grandson talks up a storm and we have 'conversations' that are delightful. Sometimes I know what we are talking about!

We are now home and I am going to 'play catchup' with all of you over the next few days.

  5. What a wonderful week you had. Yes, grands do exhaust us but it is oh so worth it. Making memories they will have forever. Rest up this week and cherish those memories.

  7. So glad you were able to have a wonderful visit with family. Grandkids keep us young, or so I have heard. Mine exhaust me too - but I love it. Tired but happy. Have a great week!

  8. I engage with our grandsons differently than I did when our daughters were growing up. I think that is why I am ready for a nap after they have been here to play.

  9. I'm so glad that you had the opportunity to spend that time with your son's family! I totally get it when it comes to the energy we had when we had our children has depleted but what joy the grands bring us! We have friends who married later in life and had two girls. She always said that she now understood why it was that God set life in motion for us to have our children when we were young!

    Rest up, my friend. xx
