Yarn Along

Good morning to all of you!  I am so excited to participate this week in the yarn along because .....drumroll....I have a different book in the photo!  I know, I know, you are all just shocked that I finally finished Rainbow Valley from the Anne series.  It was good and I did read it a very very long time ago.  The plot kept feeling vaguely familiar.  The ending jarred my memory and when I finished it I thought "I read that before!!!"

So I am taking a break from the Anne series, I only have one more to read and my only version is on my ipod touch :(  I am not in any real hurry to read the eighth book in the series anyways.  My book, The Distant Hours is by Kate Morton who wrote The Forgotten Garden which I read earlier in the year and enjoyed it from beginning to end.  So when I saw this book a month ago I had to buy it.  I just started it so I cannot opine as of yet.

My knitting is also moving along.  I blogged yesterday about my tea leaves cardigan which is finished!! Gosh I just love it and wish it was cold enough to wear it....and dry enough to wear it.  Yesterday it was still slightly damp from blocking.  I might just have to knit this pattern up again one day.  It was such fun. In the photo above is my favorite Aunt's Christmas gift.  I am on chart A and so far this is a really nice knitting project.  The stockinette area was a bit tricky in keeping track of the increases.  I could have used stitch markers but then that would have taken away the fun of chanting.  Of course my dear husband loves to call out random numbers to see if I will mess up.....and yes I do !

I am looking forward to seeing what everyone is knitting and reading this week at Ginny's blog Small Things

  7. Funny, I have got to the end of books and realised in the last few pages that I'd read them before ;) My mum thinks this is crazy behaviour, but I read a lot (or at least, I did before I started knitting!)

Love the colour of the yarn you're using for your Aunt's gift

  21. Sounds like our husbands have something in common there. ;)

I read that book and really enjoyed it...although now I can't remember anything about it. It's all jumbled up with the 13th Tale in my head...
