Currently on the Needles

I honestly haven't much progress to show this week on my sweater.  I have an inch or two to go before I do the edging.  The edging will be an icord bind off, unless I change my mind again.  Next up will be the sleeves.  Oh and I did finish my shawl which you can read all about on this post.  I wore it two days ago and I just love it-so warm and bright!

I'm reading The Lavender Garden by Lucinda Riley and the start was so so.  However after a few chapters the plot has developed and I've been devouring the story.  I love books that go back in time to solve a family mystery and since I've been in a WW II mood, this one is heading back for some espionage in France. very exciting :)

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. I love your cardigan Karen, truly I do. Did you write up the pattern as you have been knitting it? I would love to knit one too.

  2. You and me both - not much sweater progress over here either. I'm hoping it will be a different story by next week.

  10. Karen, you are such a speedy knitter! Projects come along so slowly for me these days. I'm nearly ready to pass my adopted blanket back to the daughter in law who will finish it; then I'll make quick work of three knits for the baby. :)

  11. I like the color of that sweater. I was just telling a friend the other day, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to knit a sweater. It would probably take me a year!

  14. You know I love the colour of that yarn, your jumper is going to look amazing. I haven't heard of an icord bind off before...but only just learnt to make an icord last year. I must check for an on-line tutorial. I decided to make the Dolan hat as both you and Tracey suggested. I love it, and will be making lots more. I finished the Annabel sweater and will hopefully be making more of those as well. Now I'm just about to cast off a pair of really long writst-warmers to wear with a three quarter length sleeved jacket. And reading? I'm still loving Nathaniel Hawthorne's, House with seven gables...I'm enjoying it so much that it's a slow read, I really don't want it to finish. I'm sure you'll be sharing a picture of your completed sweater soon. Can't wait to see it.
    Happy knitting,

  17. Pretty! I love historical novels too! And I sort of surprised myself a handful of years ago by realizing that I like ones set during war too. Maybe just because it is a time of great human strength in adversity. I need to get to the library--thanks as always for your recommendations!

  18. The color of that Quince and Co is so beautiful and kelp is just the right name for it! I agree with Lisa - your slowest knitting is still faster than my fastest lately! haha!

  19. Still working on the Downton Abbey Shawl and some other little things. Am reading 2 books, Steve Berry's The King's Deception and Jamie Ford's Song of Willow Frost. Both are good and very different from each other.
