Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

My weekend has been slow, just the way I needed the weekend to be, here's the list:

-enjoyed the cooler weather by being outside more-sitting on the patio
-brought cupcakes into the house!
-called my dad and wished him a very happy birthday
-realized that within a month one kid will be moved out--eep!
-spent some time in my studio, tidying up and reorganizing
-enjoyed the quiet early morning hours alone
-heard the cicadas for the first time
-today I'll be menu planning, reading the Sunday paper, doing a puzzle or two, plotting out the week ahead.

How was your weekend?

  1. Sounds like a really nice restful weekend.

  2. I think we both had the same kind of weekend this week, Karen...restful and stress free! Loving it! We had cupcakes in our house this weekend, too. They were made by an 8 year old friend who has her own cupcake business. Delicious! Have a great week ahead, my friend.

  3. Hi Karen, Does Friday night count as the start of the weekend? My Friday was spent at work with some troll of woman being abusive and obnoxious to all and sundry. There is always one that goes against the grain. Saturday far more relaxing (a day off) and I toddled off to a craft fair with a good friend- bought lots of material and had a good time. Just back from work (Sunday) - same troll present but slightly less painful...sometimes there are weekends like this but thankfully not too often!
See you. I will send you parcel off on Tuesday Cheers Monique

  4. It's been quiet here too, not the weekend I planned, but still a nice weekend. I need to get in my studio and do some heavy cleaning out, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. Today I am knitting and watching a movie.

  6. Cleaning and organizing is the way to spend a quiet day. And sometimes frustrating! We had a garage sale and then organized what didn't sell to go to goodwill and the free on the street pile.

  7. What a nice and peaceful weekend! It was a very wet day here on Friday, but luckily it let up for most of the day yesterday. Hubby and I were able to go for an early morning walk and a bike ride with our youngest in the afternoon. Friends invited us over around 4:00 and we decided to go and hang out with them for a while. I went for a good long "walk" with a friend this morning which was a great way to start the day. Not much planned for the rest... :-)

  8. What a beautiful stack of books in that picture! I'm glad you are having a slow weekend! We have too. But I have been so Cranky!! I feel bad for my people! I need to do a deep clean of all my craft/knitting supplies. They are in the baby's room....which we are trying to turn into a baby room. Which means I need to think about how to organize my supplies when they won't have a dedicated room anymore!

  18. Greetings, Karen. :) I don't usually join you for your Weekending party, but I'm up with a smidge of insomnia (it's just after 1 a.m. here on the west coast). A not so swell way to wrap up a terrific weekend spent gardening, knitting, finishing an amazing book, and visiting good friends after church. Wishing you a happy Monday,
    xo ~Lisa :)

  21. It sounds nice leisurely. Ours was busier but I didn't have much cooking to do so a nice break.
    Here's a peek into it.
