Currently on the Needles

I've been sporadically knitting on two projects.  My sock blanket is showing more progress but now that it's almost lap size you cannot see the hours I've put in.  I love this project so!  Unfortunately my shawl has seen maybe four or five rows added this past week due to my life being busy with relocating one adult child.

I finished my socks over the weekend and here's the post if your interested!

My reading is the same, so far the book is good!  The plot is relaxing and slowly evolving.  I'm excited to read each night and visit with characters I care about. What are you knitting and reading this week?

  2. Don't you just hate that, as the project grows, the longer and longer you work without the same gratification of when it was smaller? It looks great anyway. How big will you make it?

  7. love the blanket!!!! you inspired me to rummage through the yarn closet to see exactly how many projects are in various stages of not-done....and low and behold, I found ANOTHER sock blanket I started....not mitered squares, but just strips that you sew together. I forgot how fun and fanciful these can be---both to knit and to look at! I love love love yours!!! (I put mine back in the closet!)

  13. My goodness, a sock weight blanket might do me in! I suppose if it's something you just pick up now and then it wouldn't be so bad, but wow, that sounds daunting! It does sound like a great way to use up some leftover sock yarn though!

  29. I love the way your blanket is taking shape, Karen. I am finding myself with an increasingly large pile of leftover sock yarn and can't decide what to do with it. Perhaps something like this or maybe that puffy bee keeper's quilt.
Love the maleficent socks, too - excellent stripes!
