Currently on the Needles

I have three projects on the needles this week and each one is a delight to pick up and knit.  First off is the imagine when shawl.  The knitting is easy because of the garter stitch but I have to pay attention to where I am on the pattern so I cannot knit this while watching a program.  I've tried!  Next off is my Hitofude cardigan that I posted about yesterday.  This knit is a tv watching knit so far and even though the construction looks complicated I think there are only little bits that can be challenging.  Last but not least, I'm still plugging along on my sock blanket.  This is a soothing knit and I love to pick it up and put it down-a non stressful knit.  The progress is slower since it's growing in size.

I am nearly finished with Eleanor and Park.  Oh the sadness of this story....I tend to put it down when the emotions run high.  I know that the ending is bittersweet.  I highly recommend the book and I know I'll be reading more of her novels.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. I love all the knitting Karen.
Your book is sad? I have it on my list to read, but didn't know it was sad.

PS- I am starting to see leaves on the ground, making it look like fall. The temperature? BRUTAL!

  2. I didn't know it was sad, either. Sometimes I'm just not in a 'sad' book mood......:(

I'm crazy about that shawl....short rows always make me pay attention, but are so worth the time and attention! Only 3, huh? HOW DO YOU DO IT?????

  5. I'm loving the shawl! Sometimes a sad story is just the thing but I'm with you and put it down. (At the moment I'm avoiding sad or creepy so I guess I'll be putting this one on the 'maybe someday' list.)

  7. I must be crazy, but I have several projects going at one time as well! I work on them at different times/events. I'm glad to hear that Hitofude is easy enough to watch TV and knit! I'm not sure I can handle a sad book right now, so I'll be waiting to add that to my queue.

  10. That shawl is so elegant, and I like the color. You know, I purchased my first pair of size 6 needles this spring. They are the smallest ones in my stash.

  11. Pretty shawl. I was sitting in the car dealership service lobby this week and thought "I wonder if I ever cross paths with people I know from blog-land without knowing it...." and then I thought, "If I walked into a lobby and saw Karen knitting on that sock yarn blanket, I would know in an instant it was her!" Hope your week is going well. :)

  13. I LOVED that book. I could was terrified to know what happens next but at the same time, was dying to know. She did such a great job of foreshadowing. It has been picked up and will be made into a movie. I picked up her next book "Landline" but haven't started it yet.
