Currently on the Needles

My house has been busy with the prepping for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Am I ready?  Almost.  I have finished the musts and now I'm onto the "wouldn't it be nice to get this done" list.  Thank goodness I've written down every single detail.  I almost forgot about the pumpkin pies....what?

My reading has been slightly slow because my son arrived on Saturday and so instead of reading, I'm talking.  However, I'm still plugging away at Alexander Hamilton and yes, I am thoroughly enjoying the book.

My knitting has changed.  I finished this and this.  I started a red fair isle hat that is secret knitting and then that blue project is another secret knitting project that I cannot say what it is.  Maybe you can infer what it is by how it looks.

I cannot wait for secrets to be revealed.  I want to shout from the rooftops!!

What are you knitting and reading?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  2. We did too many of the wouldn't it be nice tasks yesterday so this morning I am focusing the the musts! I am wanting to try my hand at Colorwork. I have Mary Jane Mucklestone's Colorwork class in my Craftsy account. Might be a good time to try that out.

  3. Hi visiting from Yarn Along. That's a pretty quilt in your picture. I'm in the UK and very jealous of you all for having a November holiday. No Thanksgiving here! Though in the past few years we have become part of your Black Friday sales events. Happy Thanks Giving from Liverpool UK

  10. I fully support a good ol' rooftop shout. Those always feel good. I have to bake three pies tonight/tomorrow. I am sure Reed will "help." I don't mind pie-baking but I know it will cut into my knitting time. Hurumph.

Enjoy this time with your family!

  15. Have a wonderful holiday with your family. I'm beginning to guess about the secret projects but will keep my ideas to myself. We are going to celebrate the day with my sister and her family. I am knitting a Barley hat for the youngest grandchild to go with his Flax sweater. Here is to those pumpkin pies. Pass the whipping cream!

  18. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, Karen. I just finished a sweater and 2 hats with Christmas yarn and hope to deliver them so they can be worn through the holidays. I'm reading Me Before You, and it's hard to put down.

  19. I drool over everyone's stranded or Fair Isle knitting on IG. I can't wait to hit that part in my jumper but I need to fix that tonal change first. Hope you had a lovely visit with the ohana. I know you miss your kids. Did Frodo get any special meal for turkey day?
