Currently on the Needles

I started another top down raglan cardigan for me over the weekend.  I thought long and hard about what pattern to use with fingering weight wool and decided to knit a cardigan that fits beautifully and I've knit twice.  I'm in my happy knitting place!

I'm enjoying My Name is Lucy Barton so far.  I should be done with this book some time tomorrow.  This novel explores a mother-daughter relationship and how life experiences bring complexity to our interactions with the ones we love.  If you are a mother or daughter or both, you might like this book.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. Your cardigan will be beautiful! I'm currently reading the "sequel" to Lucy Barton, Anything is Possible, and it explains a lot about the people that Lucy and her mother talk about and Lucy's life growing up, written in short related stories. If you enjoy Lucy, I'd recommend it.

  2. LOVE that gray. Why do we always love gray? I'm drawn to bright, cheerful colors... but, I almost always wear the soft grays and beiges. You do this cardigan so well and it looks so good on you! Happy knitting and reading. blessings ~ tanna

  15. Nice choice, especially since you've had good results before. I am knitting a mystery sock KAL, and it's a challenging one. I need to get started on our next book club book The Civil Wars of Julia Ward Howe.

  17. I'm working up my courage to start one of the few fingering weight sweater quantities that I have. I'm worried I'll run out of steam and not finish. I'll enjoy watching your progress.

  18. I'm excited to see more of your cardigan. I love how you love the pattern and are utilizing it again. I haven't gotten in as much knitting as I would have liked. I am exhausted. The tween has baked twice and of course I'm doing the clean up. The little one finished her diorama with my bits of help here and there. And tomorrow I have to drive 44 miles up into the city for an appointment. Can Calgon take me away?

  19. I love the soft grey of your newest knit. So pretty. I just got that book through Overdrive, but haven't had a chance to even start it yet! Hopefully this weekend.

  20. Yes. I can quite understand opting to knit something familiar. Your book does look intriguing.

  21. I love your cardigans, they always look so cosy! I read Lucy Barton a while ago, I liked it but wasn't crazy about it. I usually like quiet novels but that one was a little too quiet for me. : )
