Weekends

Hello!  How was your weekend?

Mine was packed full of goodness but sadly the goodness didn't get photographed.  You see, we went for a day trip to see our daughter and son in law in Newark, Delaware and I did not take one single photo.  We had a pretty good time together shopping and having a dinner out.  I love a day trip because I can sleep in my own bed at the end of the day.

I didn't do much knitting in the car but I did do lots of daydreaming and chatting with my husband.  I go in waves on whether I want to knit or not.  I guarantee you though, if I didn't bring knitting I would have wanted to knit.

When I returned home and picked up the mail I found a surprise gift from my sister!  Another knitting project bag - how cool is that?  I've had a rough week with some pesky worries and have leaned on her with them.  She is a good listener and boy oh boy, getting a gift - well it brightened my day and put a smile on my face.

Today has been a much better day. (probably from the gift...and I'm a smidge less worried)

Today after I picked up Frodo from his overnight stay at the kennel, I spent time in my studio winding more yarn for my yoke sweater.  I read a bit of George (Washington).  Yes, I'm on a first name basis with this fine man.  I have to say he sounds so much like me.  He sticks to a strict schedule and God help anyone who interferes with it.

Anyways I made a few lists for the week and ironed out my work schedule and gym schedule.  I am set for Monday.

This weekend had:
blue skies - ramen noodle restaurant - book buying - riding through Amish countryside -  lots of gray yarn knitting - snow flurries - happy dog - football games (boo!) - cheesy toast - hot tea - daylight after 4:30!

  1. Sounds like a lovely weekend. I go back and forth about taking pictures. Sometimes I just want to savor the time and not rely on a photo to remind me.

  2. Glad to hear I am not the only one who gets so wrapped up in the moment that the photo never happens. Day trips are the best. Sounds like yours was marvelous. Going through Amish country was one of my favorite drives.

  12. Sounds like a lovely weekend despite the worries. My weekend was pretty nice too. It snowed/sleeted/freezing rained both Saturday and Sunday. I stayed cuddled up inside with my knitting the whole time. And thankfully, our power stayed on through it all!

You're lucky to have such a great sister. That project bag is awesome!

  16. Sisters are the best. They know just what we need. Sometimes I just choose to savor an experience rather than look at it through a camera so good for you. Quiet - snowy weekend here. My book group met on Friday evening and we had a lovely time. Saturday morning I had coffee with two good friends and watched a beautiful snowfall. After church on Sunday I walked in a winter wonderland.
