Weekends

This weekend was full of fun, my kids all came in and we attended a nearby fair.  Every year I look forward to going and every year my body gives out in some fashion.  Getting old is for the birds!  I prefer to go on a rainy day (less people) but the kids can only come on a Saturday.  Of course it was over 80 degrees!

There is not much 'heathy food' at the fair but I managed to each food I didn't regret.  I always get some french fries and a slice of pizza.  Instead of the evil funnel cake, I opted for an apple dumpling.  There is apple in the apple dumpling so it's sort of healthy, right?

Our son was agreeable for an impromptu photo shoot!  If he moves far away I'll be sad (but I will manage like I always do).

Sunday morning the kids left after lunch in stages.  I cleaned the bathrooms, stripped the beds and did more laundry.  The house is back to being tidy until the next visit.

We are still in the 80s but all too soon the temps will be dropping.  Hello Fall!!!

How was your weekend?

  13. Great images of you and your hubby with your son!!!!!!! There is that laundry factor isn't there? Saturday was a blur. I fought with TUNEIN the app to have them remove a charge from my TRIAL membership. I won. Then we went out with friends. Another friend whose parent is failing quickly and they don't seem to realize it or they aren't ready to face it. Pizza was good tho. Sunday Rain all day and Cubs about sealed their post season fate. It aint looking good

  14. I think a weekend with family and going to the Fall Fair sounds like bliss. Even if it was 80 degrees. I would give anything for 80 degrees, but to day we are supposed to top out at 89, under 90 I will take! Love the photos of both you and your husband with your son, you have a beautiful family.

  15. We had a good weekend with the usual. Saturday I made applesauce from apples we bought at a local orchard - well 45 miles away. Sunday we went to church, stopped for coffee and then went separate ways for a bit. He went to have more coffee with a friend and I went to the Farmer's Market. The produce is bounteous. I can't wait for Fall to arrive and stay.
