Weekends



This weekend had brilliant sunshine! I've mentally bottled it up and will remember it fondly when we return to cloudiness and rain once more.  How was your weekend?


We managed a walk outside in the sun looking for snowdrops blooming and didn't find them yet.  The birds were singing away and the fresh air while cold smelled like spring.  I know, it's too early but it's nice to daydream of light jacket wearing days.


I made four washcloths over the weekend and hope to make a few during this week.  I'm just about to start another sweater for me however I am waiting for some contrasting color skeins to arrive in the mail before I cast on.  I'm down to two projects on the needles and both of them are shawls.

    What a lovely weekend you had! Washcloths are nice "palate cleansing" knitting between sweaters.

    Washcloths always brighten my knitting doldrums. They work up so quickly. Makes me feel so accomplished in a short amount of time. What sweater pattern is on your agenda next?

    Pretty washcloths! Love that peachy color. Weren't the sun and the blue, blue skies so wonderful this weekend. It just felt so good to get out and walk.

    Oh, those lovely blue skies! (somehow winter skies are different from the sky around here, I guess it's the amount of light). I had a great weekend too. Sewing and gardening. Bliss!

    Our sunshine will end, also. But we did have a lovely run of it. So I guess the coming "dullness and precipitation," should not be too hard to take. -smile-

    I really want to start making some washcloths and dishtowels for my daughters. As slow as I am, they would be ready in plenty of time for Christmas, LOL! Seriously, they seem like the perfect mindless project to work on when my main knitting starts to get tiresome. Our weekend was great, I do love how sunny and warm it has been. Great for hiking!

    We were able to go out for a walk this weekend also. We are expecting rain the next to days, but at least we have had some sun. Your wash cloths look nice and new and soft. I am looking forward to seeing the next sweater that you start knitting.

    We had another sunny day today, Monday. I'll take each and every one. Wash cloths are a nice project. I need to knit a few to stash in my gift bag and maybe a couple to use here. I look forward to seeing your new knitting projects. I am down to one project. My shawl is dry from blocking and needs ends woven in. The hitchhiker is drying and then another weaving-ends-in session. I don't mind the weaving in though - it means something is finished- finished.

    Catching up on some blog reading after a busy week. My weekend was very full hence I am behind on my blog reading. I need to knit some washcloths I have worn a few out, I need to dive into my stash to see what cotton I have in there to make some. Hope you have had a good week.

    I am really admiring the color, coral. Do you follow Edible Thoughts Makes? Stephanie recently completed a Pure Joy Shawl and the colors she used are all kinds of wonderful. Seeing Frodo zzz made me ^__^.

My weekend happily contained: -wearing the above woolens all at the same time without being hot -so many walks and taking in the changing leaves. -a leaf shower on Saturday-the wind swirled the leaves off the trees up in the air to float down -changing screen savers to autumn themes! -a craft fair where my husband and I say "we could make that", but we don't. -french fries at the craft fair -scrambled eggs and toast for dinner because we were lazy. -football season has descended in my house. he was in the front room watching whatever is on today -I sat in the family room and watched A Tree Grows in Brooklyn .   Now I want to read it again. -Oh! Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga
