Weekends

How was your weekend?

On Saturday my daughter and son in law came for a day visit.  We haven't seen them since the first week of March and thought we should try a visit.  It was so nice to finally see them in person!  We had a lovely time in the backyard and had dinner together.

Yesterday I did lots of chores before my son and future daughter in law came for a visit.  This is the last one before their move to Indiana next week.  Gulp!  We had a great time with them as well, lots of food and poolside chatting.

It was funny that this fourth of July, Frodo didn't even care about the fireworks.  I guess he can tell whether it's a thunderstorm or not.  He is so very brave.  I think Holly just hides no matter what the noise.

Just to note that I've watched Hamilton twice now (and counting).

I've got lots of laundry to catch up on today and I'm thinking of a new shawl to cast on! I bought this yarn at Cape May during our family vacation.  That holiday seems like a life time ago.  How was your weekend?

  2. It sounds like a lovely weekend seeing both of your kids! Wishing your son all the best with his move. Moving is a big deal in "normal" times, but I would imagine that it can present even more difficulties now. Enjoy your new cast on (and that great book)!

  6. So wonderful that you were able to see your son and daughter in law to be..
Oh to be able to travel again.. it's the thing we miss the most.
The kids are reading a historic non fiction book and we are currently reading the chapter on Hamilton. I am waiting for us to finish it before we watch it as a family.

  7. I'm so glad you got to see your daughter and son-in-law before they moved.

How is that yarn shop in Cape May? I've been thinking of driving down when all this stuff settles down.....maybe in the late fall.

  10. So glad that you got to see both of your children and their significant others. Frodo is a brave pup. My daughter's dog Ruby wasn't as spooked as we thought she would be and our neighborhood was loud! I love the yarn and the reading material.

  14. I'm trying to start a bigger project like a shawl. All these socks are starting to get monotonous. Frodo is such a brave boy! My dogs did pretty well, too. One is deaf (14 years) and the other was just a bit confused (9 months). Glad to hear that you got to see your kids.

  15. So jealous! I did see my kids in January, but not this summer. Seth moves to Chicago in August, so we can see them outside after they do their 14-day quarantine. I may not see my daughter until next summer! Never thought I'd be apart from her for so long.

  16. Oh, Michelle Obama is such an inspiration to me . I watched the show BECOMING and loved it. No seeing either of our kiddos this holiday. Haven't seen them since Christmas . Never imagined a pandemic in the US actually. You will SEE them on FaceTime and the like. It will be different, but you are close and will remain so. Sorry you have the distancing coming up. Its tough

  17. Sorry I have got a bit behind on my blog reading this week. I am so glad to hear that you were able to see your children this weekend. I am sorry that your son is moving so far away that is going to be really hard for you. I would love to read that book by Michelle Obama, I heard her reading some of it on the radio and it sounded amazing.
