Around Here

Good morning! I'm sitting at my kitchen table early in the morning with a window opened and it's a bit brisk. I am in heaven. I know that next week the weather forecast is back into the 80's but I'll take these low 70's in a heart beat. How has your week been?

We drove to a local park twice this past week to walk a loop. The first time was without Frodo and the second time it was with Frodo. Each time was wonderful, I think Frodo liked the walk. We do walk in our neighborhood but there are more cars here than where we used to live, it's manageable but different to what we are used to doing.

I've been trying to increase my exercise for all that heart healthy 'stuff'.  Besides walking, I'm either strength training or doing yoga in the mornings. It's felt really good getting back into the groove and I'm sure my body appreciates it.

Around here, there's been lots of journalling, sketching, haiku writing and reading. The knitting, well it's definitely there every day but not as much as I used to do at the old house. The crisp weather has spurn some stash digging and romanticizing of fall cast ons. I also have an upcoming photo shoot some new wools I acquired in the past two months.

I swear to you Holly is happy in the photo, just annoyed I kept calling her name for the photo. Unlike Frodo who refuses to look at me when I am snapping a photo, Holly will look but give me the stink eye. She loves living here!!

  1. Hi!
I like parks a lot, but I prefer forests :) I go mushroom picking a lot, I like it a lot. Lovely kitten! I have two at home and these are my great loves :)
    Regards!

  2. I'm also enjoying the cooler fall temps, but scowling at the weather people predicting 80s and humidity next week. That's not supposed to happen in September (not in my ideal world anyway)!

  3. I'm loving the darker and cooler mornings. I love coming downstairs, putting coffee on and looking out into a darker yard. I haven't knit a lot this week (work busy), but I'm sure looking forward to the NJ Sheep and Fiber Festival tomorrow!!

  4. How nice it must be to have 70 temps. I would even be happy with 90s now. (Sigh) only another month and this may happen for us desert dwellers. Cardinals never come to where I live. When I lived in KS we would see them all the time. Such a pretty bird. It is nice to see Holly and to hear she is enjoying her new digs.

  12. Glad you are settling into a routine :) That forest looks like a lovely place for a walk as well! We have so many forest trails near us (although we call them bush trails) we are really lucky the kids are never short of entertainment!

Hope you are having a nice weekend :) Busy Sunday here, after 3 parties yesterday we have another one to go to today!
