Weekends

Good morning! How was (is) your weekend?? We went to visit our son and daughter in law in Indiana over the weekend and came home yesterday. We had a great time and ate good food.

Our drive in was 10 hours in the car because of a 2 hour traffic jam/accident outside Indianapolis and a minor accident outside of Columbus. I really was tired of being in the car by the time we arrived and I do not miss traveling. If I had my say I would never travel unless it was a day trip or 3-4 hour drive to somewhere. However this kid lives where he lives and our daughter and son in law is looking to relocate to New England instead of staying in Delaware.  I see longer distance trips in my future. Maybe flying might be the way to go?

I did not knit ONE  STITCH for the entire weekend! I have no excuses except I didn't feel like knitting. I did read some but not much. Let's stick with I was being mindful.

On our way home yesterday we took a northern route through Ohio that worked out much much better and came home in a timely manner. Today I'm playing catchup with chores and reading blog posts.

How was your weekend?

  1. Ten hours in a car is not fun. Glad you got there and back safely. Very quiet weekend here. Knittibg, reading, Mass and baking are the highlights so far. But, today we go to Hone Depot for door hardware. Bet you're jealous lol.

  2. Pretty quiet except for the one lunch/coffee date out in Wayne. There was a little bit of reading and quite a bit of knitting. There was some "thinking about knitting" too. I have a big project that I need to get sizing figured out and then I can cast on.

  3. That does not sound like a fun drive, especially when it could be a bit shorter with less traffic. But seeing kids is always a good thing, despite the long trip. My weekend has been busy with cleaning up flooding, endlessly using a shop-vac, hoping for the best, and planning for the future. Plans include installing a second sump pump, as one is clearly not able to handle 11" of rain. I'm going to be glad to sit down tonight, rest my aching back, and maybe even knit a little bit.

  5. We are out of town for the weekend enjoying an end of summer getaway. Glad you got to go visit your son. Our kids live from Virginia to California, so we have come to accept that if we want to see them, we will need to travel. Hope you enjoy the week ahead and some cooler weather.

  11. I'm glad you had a safe trip, even though it was long. Traveling to see kids is a dilemma, drive for hours on end or fly. I do not love traveling long distances either but we do it to visit our kids.
