Weekends

 

Good morning!

How was your weekend? Mine was filled with:

-getting so close to finishing the poncho! - lunches on the back patio - watching Holly successfully hunt and kill a dried green pea in the kitchen - daily walks - saying goodbye to cool breezes and resisting the hot humid weather that is returning - cleaning - laundering - menu planning - reading - more knitting! - homemade pizza - Mass on Youtube

    I did some very dull cleaning, laundry, and mowing, but made time to knit a few rows. I'm glad you're approaching the end of the poncho!

    Your weekend sounds nice. Glad Holly got the pea - LOL. Can't wait to see the Poncho! My weekend was filled with the NJ Sheep & Wool Festival!!!

    Holly for the win! LOL. Surely your hot humid weather won't stay long. Right? My weekend consisted of going to Home Depot, watching 2 exterior doors be installed, knitting, crocheting, going to Mass, watching NFL and watching movies. There might have been some bread making in there too lol.

    ...it has warmed back up here too...but not above 90 again...thankfully...we've been making pineapple jam...which is new to me...we never had it growing up...

    Mine weekend was all about 'recovering' from being gone for 3 weeks, lots and lots of laundry, cleaning out the trailer, etc. Glad to be home but not loving the high temps, 'the never ending summer'. Glad Holly got that bean!

    First weekend home in a while. It was nice to do a good cleaning. Lots of rain yesterday = lots of knitting time. Can't wait to see the poncho.

    Sounds like a full weekend! Love that picture of Frodo… he’s so adorable ☺️ It’s been very hot here in Phoenix and I am longing for cooler weather. We didn’t do too much, just our normal round of shopping and relaxing together at home.

    Sounds and looks like an absolutely lovely weekend! We had a busy one with 3 parties to attend and a BBQ so it was a tiring one! A lot of fun too though, the kids had a great time, and so full of ice cream and cake at the end of it, haha!

    Hope your week is off to a good start :)

    The weekend inc1uded an ear1y padd1eboard on Saturday. IT was very very quiet. We got on the water by 0800. The trip out was against the winds. We stay c1ose to shore when there are strong winds. The way back was so fun. Winds pushing us a11 the way back! The water was c1ear and warm. Our Iake is spring fed and so c1ear and c1ean.
    Sunday was an awfu1 Iot of sports on radio, on tv, and computer. Cubs, Packers, Bears......but a pretty day to sit on my porch and watch the hummingbirds come back over and over and over to drink

My weekend happily contained: -wearing the above woolens all at the same time without being hot -so many walks and taking in the changing leaves. -a leaf shower on Saturday-the wind swirled the leaves off the trees up in the air to float down -changing screen savers to autumn themes! -a craft fair where my husband and I say "we could make that", but we don't. -french fries at the craft fair -scrambled eggs and toast for dinner because we were lazy. -football season has descended in my house. he was in the front room watching whatever is on today -I sat in the family room and watched A Tree Grows in Brooklyn .   Now I want to read it again. -Oh! Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga
